Not too far from the bottom of the formation. I just had to reduce the size to fit the forum format. I have a whole slew of pics for this but won't be posting all of them, for obvious reasons. It is a much larger formation with more signs/carvings than what is showing. The angle of the sun washes out a lot of them in this pic, so another trip later in the day is definitely called for. Do you care to elaborate on the areas of interest you circled?

You showed your shadows the people out there to watch out for are called shadow riders you will smell them before you see them they are the bad hombres.

The ones we are watching out for are the Drug Mules and Illegals who would love to eat us for lunch. This is a very dangerous place to be. Never heard of "Shadow Riders", is that another name for the Drug Mules? We've already seen them flying low hugging the mountains on more than one occasion, once right below DTTH.

The backpacking mules are only concerned about getting to their destination near I-10 on time. And not running out of water, which is likely the only reason they might approach you. They don't want to be late because their contacts near the Interstate are the real bad actors. The closer you guys are to the border, the more chance you'll be hassled by cops rather than drug runners. The planes are also cops - the days of the Columbus Air Force are long, long gone.

Yep, we see the plane patrols just as often, the helicopter pic from my opening post was a patrol checking us out. The mules are either afoot or running ultralights hugging the mountains. Just a couple weeks ago one ultralight was found near a highway, still containing its load, the pilot was long gone of course. The backpackers are the ones we watch for mostly, as you pointed out, our water and vehicle make us desirable targets. But that is less likely than running into the large groups now moving through from Central America. As Dog can tell you, it's an eerie feeling hearing their whistles from the brush on either side of you as they pass through. Either way, it's not a good situation to find yourself in unarmed. Especially for a female. Don't get me wrong, we aren't out there waving weapons around looking for trouble, just being cautious.

Edit: The shadow pic of Dog and I was just in fun, apparently Cyzak took it seriously, lol. Maybe I should have titled it "Does this shadow make my butt look fat?". :laughing7:

It's bad enough to have others in the area when looking for treasure. This stuff requires concentration. That would keep me on edge. A well trained dog is what's needed. Well, You do have one with you and he can remove thorns also. I might have missed it in reading. How are you guys getting around? On foot ? It looks like there was a road in the area.

Yep, I couldn't ask for a better hunting partner, he keeps me safe and sound and is pretty handy with a rock pick, among other skills.

We drive in as far as we can get then hike the rest of the way. There are some rough roads leading into the mountains, ranchers have leases in the foothills with cattle roaming around the range in places. For the life of me I don't know what they're eating, there's nothing but cactus, thorns, and scrub brush dotting the desert. But we see them frequently. Once into the mountains we are on foot of course. Very rough terrain. It's not a place someone would stumble on by accident, you have to work for it, lol.

Do you have any pictures from the highest point looking down on the area? A lot can be learned from that view. But you don't want to give two much away.

Not from the highest point...yet. Apparently I have some "Goat Training" to do first. :-\

Shadow 001.jpgYour photos were fine just keep your head on a swivel.

And what does the Seven signify? I've heard several theories, what is yours?

Also, did you catch the Serpent with a Cross in its mouth? He is hanging over another Sun Symbol (or would it be a Moon?) that is hidden in the shadowy recess below him.....

Excellent eye Mikel! :headbang: I was wondering who was gonna mention the Head. It's very Egyptian looking to me, what do you think about it? And it's facing all the action as well.

I can’t claim to know that it would be Egyptian, or Phoenician.
But looks like the same time / era.

I can barely move across the photo, without seeing different and unrelated images.

I don’t envy you, in trying to make all of it come together.

I know, right? It's all so confusing, almost like Trig all over again, sigh.

Can you tell me how many lines are emitting off of that circle if you get a chance.

Cyzak, I have zoomed in on it as close as my phone will allow, before pixilation wipes it out.

At best guess, it is a round plate like stone with other round edged stones set around it.

When I first saw it, I thought the same thing that you did.

It is still a mystery, as is most of the rest of the photo.

Zooming in and out changes most of what I see.
I’ll wait till Dit does the trig on it.

The 7 to me would be a safe place with items needed to consume for ones survival.
