An interesting day at the beach

First target was a 17 on my Equinox 900 two scoops down. Up came this 9K gold ring instead of the typical foil you get at that number. It's probably the tiniest gold ring I've ever found. It measures a 1.5 on my ring sizer. After not finding much of anything except for a few modern coins, I got a banging 95 that acted like a much bigger than average target. Normally, that would be some huge piece of junk, but, I rarely ignore a target reding that. It took three scoops to get it out and I was happy it wasn't just trash can fodder, but, solid brass.

Congrats on your finds. You don't see 9k in the US much. We don't go lower than 10k here. Brass statue is probably an offering that was tossed into the water. I have an aluminum Ganesha statue from a creek. Like yours a very obvious hard to ignore tone.

Nice digs! I saw a ceremony at LJ Shores a few weeks ago, where folks carefully placed an object into the water, about waist deep. But, each time, I was keeping a respectful distance and couldn't see the item.

I actually found it on a beach in England. It's stamped .375 and has 5 hallmarks inside the band.

Here's some photos. I may have to do some better cleaning as it's hard to get a good sharp image. The one on the left looks like a T and R overlapping with I and M after. The second looks like a 5 petal flower, the third a crown, the fourth is .375, and the fifth looks like a cursive 2 or ampersand.

Thanks for the additional pics. Don't know the maker, but it look like it may be Sheffield hallmarked, with the stylised 'Q' they used as the date letter for 1990:
