Am I the only one who packs heat while detecting?

Well, I haven't taken one with me detecting, not that I wouldn't but I take them every time I go camping or on a long trip because it is definitely true, in this World anything can happen now days. My motto is: "If you have one, you mine as well keep it handy". You never know when one will save yours or someone else's life! ;)
But anyways, as for me...Well depending on what mood I am in I will carry the Ruger 9mm or if I want to get back to my roots and feel an old-fashioned favorite I will reach for the Model 1851 .44 Colt. 101_1080.JPG

Oh, and many times I take my beautiful wife with me. She is handy with a shotgun! ;D

Everyone always talks about carrying concealed but what about carrying in plain site. I've been meaning to call local law enforcement about that. Does anyone carry theirs in plain site. I would think in plain view would stop most people from even trying to hassle you. Here in colorado there are so many different laws in different towns and counties no one can keep up with them all.

Wow, talk about bringing back an old thread. But there is one thing I like better than metal detecting... gun porn. Yep, I carry, never know if Mr.No-legs or his cousin two-legs will show up. Either way they're both snakes. No, I don't shoot non-poisonous snakes and I don't bother the poisonous unless they're a threat to me or my buds. Oh yea. S&W.38 snubbie with Crimson Trace(laser). ...I only carry four days a week, you guess which ones  .

4440, two feet away and your still here! He must have just cleaned out the blueberry patch. It the .44 a 29? Frank

I do not Carry. I have a Mossburg 500 AG, and a Remington model 710, in .270 Caliber. I think people would be calling the cops on me for walking around the parks and school playgrounds carrying these weapons on my back. I do not need too pack heat in the areas that I hunt.

i most often hunt old home and farm sites in remote locations where the urban terrorists are not a threat...but never say never....

i'll carry either a Glock 30SF, S&W MP 40, or any of the S&W K & L frame snubs (all loaded with .357 Mag).

When i leave the fort...I carry.
Funny thing last Spring. I had been to my cousins for a cook out. He has a good place to shoot, so I took:
1927 A-1 Auto-Ordance, 1911 .45, a Dan Wesson .357, two Ruger MkII, Nylon 66 Remington, 39A Marlin, and Kel-tec P3AT.
Hit a driver's license/drunk driver check point. As required by law, I presented my CCW permit with my D.L. and proof of insurance. Young deputy Sheriff:"What's this?" Me: My concealed carry permit. Deputy; "Why are you showing me this?' Me: "The law requires that I show my permit when I'm carrying." Deputy;"You mean that you have a firearm in the truck?" Me "yes" He says: "Where is it?" I say: "Which one?" He says 'You have more than one?" I run through the list, and his face gets more screwed up at each item. He is still holding all my paper work and for some reason ask if I had been drinking. "Yes I have, I have a diet coke right here." Traffic was backing up pretty far behind me and a highway patrol strolled over from across the highway and says isn't your wife 's name .****** I say yes it is.. He says she catered the cake at our wedding, sure was a good job. Give thim his papers back.
