I just added 4 pocket lights to my display case to give my lower cases more light and visibility. I had been meaning to do this for some time. I think it turned out ok and accomplished what I was trying to do. This was very inexpensive too. I went to Home Depot and purchased 2 - 2 packs of lights for $ 7.00 per pack. Now that I know how they look I will pick up 4 more in the near future. If you have been pondering on something like this, they work. They are powered by 3 AAA batteries so there are no cords to deal with. 20190317_152732.jpg20190317_152732.jpg

I have dug most of my relics, but some have been graciously given to me over the years. One of my cousins gave me the two US boxplates years ago from his collection. He was an older relic hunter from Virginia and he was hunting during the centennial years of the CW. The bayonet was donated from a family friend, and my old hunting buddy Ranger Randall have me the U.S. eagle breast plate as a gift this past Christmas.

Oh yes , I do recall the Breast Plate Gift , & it's nice to have Cool cousins in VA, bayonet is sweet as well.

These day's any plate is hard to come by . I've been blessed with a Box Plate myself.

Thanks Davers. I'm sure you have quite a collection yourself.

I have a few things , they are just unorganized & in different places , I hope someday to have the space to display my Historical finds that 'Need' to be shared .
You been huntin lately?

D, the small lights come with two sided tape and you just apply it to the bottom side of the lights. The backside twists off to access the batteries. The lights are installed on the bottom side of the glass shelves. This is really a simple and inexpensive fix. I wished I had gotten around to doing this sooner. Have you been out hunting lately?
Sounds good! Looks like a trip to Home Depot is needed. My case is tall with several shelves so the lower shelves are pretty dark, this looks like the perfect solution, thanks for posting! As for hunting, I got out to an old cavalry site I had hunted many years ago and did pretty well with the new machine. I posted on the recent finds page but did not post in this forum. Here's the pics tho.

You did indeed do well. Congratulations. Are you hunting with a Nox?

Yep, I have been trying to get some hours in on the 800 when I can. Slowly getting more comfortable with it, I just don't have a lot of free time, we are pretty busy at work right now.

Look's good there DD :icon_thumleft: I need to do the same with one of my cabinets. Problem is I need two more cabinets for everything that isn't displayed. Looking almost daily for used display's but they're too expensive or they have broken glass. One of these days I'll post up my collection.

Keep searching the classifieds and maybe you can luck up on a nice older display case. I found the one I have some years back. It supposedly came from one of the old theatres in Atlanta. It served me well. I didn't really want a newer modern looking case. The older ones to me fit in with the Relics theme and shows well. Good luck. I hope to one day need another one too.

Neat
I was gonna say , "did you hit a 'hot spot'" as digging here can be a Winch these days .But Those hot spots still exist even on hunted hard sites.

That reminds me that at my C Camp US site the Smiths came from what I would call one Tent area ' not one hole' but a volley ball court size area, the other 90'% IMO Was Sharps, Spencer's ,Burnside's , & Waverlett 36 & 44's.

The small cal, fired and dropped round balls are 'debatable' for when they got to that camp. ???

Again Nice Digs

Ill say it again , I just need room & a truck & a bit of motivation .
