Hi guys.
Can a kind colleague get a photostatic copy of Tony Jaggers' book? Or some digital version? Expenses run on my own. Thank you.

I have that book and believe me, there is very little info there. It is gereric with posts like "ship lost off Long Key. Date unknown. Cargo unknown." Useless info.

No, the copyright has expired.

How so?

Duration of Copyright

"The law automatically protects a work that is created and fixed in a tangible
medium of expression on or after January 1, 1978, from the moment of its
creation and gives it a term lasting for the author’s life plus an additional 70
years."

As an author and publisher, I'll agree with you. "Fair use" isn't copying the whole dang book.

I often post pioneer newspaper articles here on TN. I am very careful that they are not protected by copyright. It's simply the right thing to do.

Good luck to all,

this is why most ship wreck researchers are often NOT willing to put out books for the general public ...one book gets bought and 500 illegal copies made because no one wants to pay them for all their work and effort gathering the info and making a book out of it ...and all I hear is folks saying --you should write a book , with all the info you know....
