A shipwreck guide to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, 1500 to 1990: For wreckdivers and

this is why most ship wreck researchers are often NOT willing to put out books for the general public ...one book gets bought and 500 illegal copies made because no one wants to pay them for all their work and effort gathering the info and making a book out of it ...and all I hear is folks saying --you should write a book , with all the info you know....

Ivan, my book only contains historical primary source information and said source is mentioned: archive name, section and bundle number. Tony's book does not even mention a single source of information, and a lot of information is copied with its consequent mistake or fantasy.

well you did it right then ...but who makes illegal copies of your book / data without giving you any credit or royality from it ? my beef as a researcher is they all want your knowledge but they want it for free ... then they use your knowledge to make them money ...not quite right or fair by my measure of justice

Dear Ivan. It was fun for me to write my book. He will last when I am gone. I wrote it to make public the immense patrimony that exists in the sea and to do something to recover. Unfortunately "up there" they have decided that there is no profit in the galleons. Well, my work is for whoever wants to read it.

Is there a comprehesive and authoritative source for Bahamian wrecks?

I've not run across one.

Just watch coopers treasure,lol.

im looking for a copy if anyone knows of one
FYI The National Archives of the Bahamas have a copy, Vol. 1. They are able to digitize all or some of it and email it for a nominal fee (may take a week or two). Email [email protected] The CAVEAT is that they don't yet have an easy payment system for those not in the Bahamas. The easiest work-around is to have someone walk in on your behalf and pay them. Hope this helps as a backup!
