Got one of those week ends with the Bucket lister trifecta :laughing7:

First, a rare British Revolutionary War button. A nice looking borderless type 29th regiment of foot (B29.k in Insignia of Independence ). The only other example I know of is in the collection of Ticonderoga museum. Very happy to get a Rev War button in a much better condition than the one in the reference book :laughing7:

My second bucket lister find was the earliest copper I have found this side of the pond. I almost gave up on finding a pre-1750 copper.
George II Halfpenny 1733 Couldn't ask for a better condition for the almost 300 years old copper.

Not sure about the dents on its edge but ressembles those found on the silver coins to prevent clipping.

The third good find is a trade weight. I had to consult Bill Dancy's book to ID this one.
I believe the sword stands for the city of London, the ewer is the official mark of Founders Company and the royal cypher is that of King George.

Had a great week end. Although the finds weren't abundant (the only other ones were a few musket balls, a crotal bell and flat buttons) the good finds didn't lack in quality.

Thanks for the comments.

Banner vote sent and congrats on not only the rare Revolutionary War British 29th Regiment of Foot button but also the same period Trade Weight and the 1733 George II Halfpenny. I believe that the Ticonderoga Museum or any museum that has Revolutionary War displays, would love to have the button in their Collection.

Thanks huntsman53. I doubt they would, they aren't that excited about buttons.

That truly is the best bucket lister trifecta Ive seen posted.
The only other example of your 29th regiment button
Is in a museum.
For me that means Banner.
Trade weight and that old copper is very nice too.

Thanks man.

Nice Finds, Congratulations! love that button.:occasion14:

Aureus, Congratulations on your fabulous finds! The detail in the coin is great! The trade weight is new knowledge for me...I don’t know anything about them yet. The button seems to be quite a rare find! Way to go!

Outstanding finds...that button is in amazing condition! A coin weight is high on my list...still looking for one after 14 years!

Well even though you seem to have no problem finding early military buttons while everyone else finds practically none, Im voting banner since youve yet to get one up top.

You are certainly on a roll Aureus, condition of the pewters your pulling is nuts. Keep em coming

I'm really lucky with this spot. Most of the buttons turn up in way better condition than I would expect from the pewter.

Looks like they should be using your button as the new pic in the book. That’s a beauty. I’m voting BANNER again! Some day my friend lol

Thanks man. If an other edition of the book comes out they might.
Good luck on your hunts!

Thanks romeo. It wasn't even on my list, had no idea I could find it in my area.

Thanks toasted. I think I was simply lucky in finding a couple of good early spots, the bonus being a great condition of the pewters. It's not nearly as easy for me as people might think.
