Got one of those week ends with the Bucket lister trifecta :laughing7:

First, a rare British Revolutionary War button. A nice looking borderless type 29th regiment of foot (B29.k in Insignia of Independence ). The only other example I know of is in the collection of Ticonderoga museum. Very happy to get a Rev War button in a much better condition than the one in the reference book :laughing7:

My second bucket lister find was the earliest copper I have found this side of the pond. I almost gave up on finding a pre-1750 copper.
George II Halfpenny 1733 Couldn't ask for a better condition for the almost 300 years old copper.

Not sure about the dents on its edge but ressembles those found on the silver coins to prevent clipping.

The third good find is a trade weight. I had to consult Bill Dancy's book to ID this one.
I believe the sword stands for the city of London, the ewer is the official mark of Founders Company and the royal cypher is that of King George.

Had a great week end. Although the finds weren't abundant (the only other ones were a few musket balls, a crotal bell and flat buttons) the good finds didn't lack in quality.

Thanks for the comments.

All very nice, I like the button the best!

When I check my book we should be able to pin down the pan/trade weight to either Geo I or Geo II/III/IV.

Thanks man. I'll need to get myself one of those books.

That truly is the best bucket lister trifecta Ive seen posted.
The only other example of your 29th regiment button
Is in a museum.
For me that means Banner.
Trade weight and that old copper is very nice too.

OMG awesome finds! :icon_thumleft: That coin is in awesome condition and that button is unreal! Congrats!

Fantastic finds-that coin is in exceptional condition. In case you didn't know it the scratches on the trade weight are where they shave it to calibrate it to the exact weight. I found a similar one that had scratches on it and an archaeologist explained that to me.

Thanks. That's what I thought as well. The item is exceptionally precise for the age 13 grams (12.98) or 200 grains.

Yeap they filed it to weight. Sometimes they had a hole in the back with lead they could put in or take out.

Any ideas about the dents on the edge of the coin? I never seen those on copper ones, I know that on silver ones they are to prevent clipping.

Thatโ€™s a banner button indeed. Congrats man that thing is great! Vote incoming...

Wow, those are all incredible!

Perfect hunt.

The 29th button is banner, period. Enough to bring me out of hiding to make sure it goes up, anyhow :laughing7:

ground these days...Good job
Lil bit

Very nice finds! :occasion14:

A Bucket lister trifecta! Rare Rev War button, my earliest copper coin, trade...

Looks like they should be using your button as the new pic in the book. Thatโ€™s a beauty. Iโ€™m voting BANNER again! Some day my friend lol

Awesome weekend, Aureus! Can't believe the condition of all those relics, congrats. Ddf.

Thanks Ddf. I'm surprised as well with the condition, especially of the copper.

Can't make up my mind if I like the button or the coin the most. Both of them are awesome finds! Congratulations.

Thanks GaRebel1861. I like all my finds equally :laughing7:
