Got one of those week ends with the Bucket lister trifecta
First, a rare British Revolutionary War button. A nice looking borderless type 29th regiment of foot (B29.k in Insignia of Independence ). The only other example I know of is in the collection of Ticonderoga museum. Very happy to get a Rev War button in a much better condition than the one in the reference book
My second bucket lister find was the earliest copper I have found this side of the pond. I almost gave up on finding a pre-1750 copper.
George II Halfpenny 1733 Couldn't ask for a better condition for the almost 300 years old copper.
Not sure about the dents on its edge but ressembles those found on the silver coins to prevent clipping.
The third good find is a trade weight. I had to consult Bill Dancy's book to ID this one.
I believe the sword stands for the city of London, the ewer is the official mark of Founders Company and the royal cypher is that of King George.
Had a great week end. Although the finds weren't abundant (the only other ones were a few musket balls, a crotal bell and flat buttons) the good finds didn't lack in quality.
Thanks for the comments.
