Interesting artifact. To me is looks like a long thin piece of gneiss granite. I think I could make one just like it if I can find a long thin stone like what I think it is made from and this here tool with a tile/concrete thin abrasive trim blade. If that is a genuine stone artifact it'll be the first I've ever seen like it not made from bone, ivory and may have seen a picture of one like it made of slate stone in a book on artifacts?

Very similar one here also said to be non authentic.
Try sticking a strong magnet to it ,I know it wont tell much but i wonder if its the same material as the one in this link and maybe made by the same person.

Well found taz.
I'm no expert and most unusually, I haven't read this whole thread (I'll go back over it now), but
there seems to me, to be an astonishing similarity between those two points.
There appears to be a definite purpose to the design. And now we know of at least 2 examples.
We don't know whether they might have been made in the same geographical location because,
if I read right, they were both purchased?
If they are both Fantasy pieces, what is the design they are based on?

That other one Taz found... it doesn't look like anyone could have possibly been trying to make a fantasy piece or fake unless they were going for realism in the fact that it's crude and ugly. The problem with that other one is that if it's fake, why would someone go through the trouble of creating such a patina on it? It's not symmetrical or pleasant to even look at, so unless someone was trying to throw a monkey wrench in the works, why go through the trouble. That makes me wonder if it's not real somehow. Maybe a kid made it years ago and lost it while playing? I don't know. I still maintain they are not ancient artifacts, and the one in this thread is made with the help of a machine. I just wonder why and how long ago exactly.
