Hit the park this morning, an area that has yield some really nice IHPs in the past. To my surprise the ground was solid as a rock, some areas were diggable, I was pulling nothing but trash, iron, foil, and nails. I then get a bouncy tone at 8 inches deep, I'm thinking more deep good sounding iron.
To my surprise this little green gem pops out, Im thinking let it be an Indian, i have pulled some deep wheats from this area as well. An an indian it was, As i clean the obverse with my thumb, I was surprised to see the last two digits of the date 77, At the point i decided not to clean anymore, packed up and the decided to call it a day with my lone keeper, but what a keeper it is. 15966000_367296446960948_3960727355852125258_n.jpg15895142_367296440294282_6758235517078350320_n.jpg15940558_367297086960884_5362683979331194853_n.jpg15965140_367297083627551_1662679830361359998_n.jpg15895118_367296443627615_4883284216731198049_n.jpg15965403_367297080294218_8826988182586148803_n.jpg

Funny, I found the OMG sign when i parked by the park, I think it was sign that an OMG moment would come.

It would have been awesome if the OMG was on top of the IHP.
Great find

Rubka888 Thanx and yes Ill go ahead and the water rinse when i get a chance, and ill post the after pictures.

rick67 Thanx for taking ur time to check my find

Not Scrappy did not find " Dos ", somehow when i was trying to edit my original post, because I had written the date 1977, I ended up creating a duplicate post.
But i wish I had found DOS

Very well done 8reales! IMO this should receive Banner status for a very rare find.

Sweet find. That's the one IHP my father needs to complete his collection. He's just not willing to pay the 300 to 5000 bucks everybody on ebay wants for one lol

Some people I know complain about finding Indians, I myself think they are one of my favorite coins.
Great job on that one, I am dying to get out but rain and 40 mph winds are putting a hamper on it.

Congrats !

Thanks for posting your other Digs from the day too
It shows you were actually out there digging :laughing7:

Fantastic!
Congrats to you sir....
And the fact that you also found an OMG pin is perfect irony.

:icon_thumright:...have it professionally cleaned and slabbed

Congrats on the key date Indian! Looks like it's in great shape- love to see the finished version (even if you do no further cleaning!). My banner vote is in.

Congrats on the Banner, it's nice to see some new blood posted up there. Welcome to the Banner Club.

Thanx for the info, yes my title says 1977, trying to correct that i ended up creating a duplicate post, lol.

Hi 8Reales; Sweet Find. I believe it is in XF 20 Condition. But due to the corrosion you must take it down one Grade to about a VF 30 ok. Not much difference in the value of the 2 Grades so your not losing much on it ok. BANNER all day long. Vote is in. PEACE:RONB

PS: Your Header Title says 1"9" 77. !!! lol.

Argentium Yes i will send a friend of mine who is a coin dealer and knows much more than me on the subject and see what he thinks its the best way to go.
