Hit the park this morning, an area that has yield some really nice IHPs in the past. To my surprise the ground was solid as a rock, some areas were diggable, I was pulling nothing but trash, iron, foil, and nails. I then get a bouncy tone at 8 inches deep, I'm thinking more deep good sounding iron.
To my surprise this little green gem pops out, Im thinking let it be an Indian, i have pulled some deep wheats from this area as well. An an indian it was, As i clean the obverse with my thumb, I was surprised to see the last two digits of the date 77, At the point i decided not to clean anymore, packed up and the decided to call it a day with my lone keeper, but what a keeper it is. 15966000_367296446960948_3960727355852125258_n.jpg15895142_367296440294282_6758235517078350320_n.jpg15940558_367297086960884_5362683979331194853_n.jpg15965140_367297083627551_1662679830361359998_n.jpg15895118_367296443627615_4883284216731198049_n.jpg15965403_367297080294218_8826988182586148803_n.jpg

Thanx Professor I'm after a those other though early 70s and those late 60s to complete a set, make never make it,but will try.

port ewen ace appreciate ur time, thanx

U are right K1DDO1979, I woke up and really do doubt going, knew it was cold and that the ground would be frozen, but i brave up and it payed off.

BIENER Thanx and love that Indian in ur profile pic.

Hi Señor Mike this and ur banner find only prove that there are still banner worthy finds in those Baltimore city parks.

Very well done 8reales! IMO this should receive Banner status for a very rare find.

RambleOn keep hitting those old spots and u might come across one. Their out there, i know its a though coin to come about.

I love to dig indians as well, i think for me its the condition and the lovely green patina that must get. Plus the age factor seen dates in the late 1800s for some reason always feels good.
And remember those rains can help with deeper signals.

Thank u Cal

jeff of pa, yes few targets as i was there for only a 45 mins, had to return home to drive my son to school, and the ground conditions as stated were not helping.

Thank u Sir, Yes that OMG joint was assumption that something big was coming

Fantastic!
Congrats to you sir....
And the fact that you also found an OMG pin is perfect irony.

CASPER-2 Thats the plan, If i do ill add the final result.

doninbrewster yes its a nice one, i have seen a couple other 1877 on different forums, but u are right this is in better shape

JeffInMass Yes the plan is to sent it to have it clean and graded by PCGS or NGC, i got a buddy who is a coin dealer here in Baltimore and I'm sure he will know whats the best way yo go in this case.

Thanx Brad, As I told Mike, this only proofs our parks are still filled with treasures the only thing we got do is put our coils on top of them.

Of course it's real! Incredible Lilo, well done.

Thank u Loco, it has been a long way, i remember when i started posting my finds with my tracker IV, and now this banner type material, life just gets better.

Congrats on the Banner, it's nice to see some new blood posted up there. Welcome to the Banner Club.

That coin is in great shape and makes digging all that trash worthwhile. Congratulations.
