Voted Banner, thanks for the history lesson!

Fantastic find! I would say this is banner worthy, although the admins don't have a clue anymore as to what should be on the banner.

Very Nice find. It's always that much more gratifying when you are expecting nothing lol. I don't know why!

Would anyone be able to put an estimated grade on this coin?? I'm thinking in the range of AG and G4??

I consider myself a novice but, according to the Red Book grading descriptions, it looks more in the range of G-4 to VG-8.

That eagle head!!!!! I envy everyone on the North east coast.. Congrats on the find of a historic level!!!!!

Get that coin slabbed and certified ASAP!!! Should already be on that my friend

Simply amazing coin- congrats!

Excellent find, well deserving of the banner. I've seen more Tree coins dug than Draped Bust silver! Just awesome

Congrats on an awesome find and for a well deserved Banner! The Draped Bust/Heraldic Eagle Quarter along with her famed Draped Bust counterparts (i.e. Half Dime, Dime, Half Dollar and Dollar) IMHO are the most beautiful coins ever minted in the United States. While the Stars are weak above and to the left of the Eagle's head, this was fairly common with all Heraldic Eagle Series coins. Although the coin appears well worn, the key points for grading are mostly strong and I believe due to this and due to the rarity of the coin, it could possibly achieve an F-12 grade. At the least, it might only get a VG-10. Due to potential value and because of the history of past sales on eBay for uncertified and graded coins of similar grade (i.e. these sold for a lot less than all Price Guide Values), I believe that it would be in the best interest of the O.P to have the coin certified and graded, especially if they ever decide to sell the coin.

Yes I may go with ANACS to do the grading. Seems I don't have to join, be a member, etc and can send as few coins as I like

Thanks all for voting for the banner!!! { my first banner find!! }

Awesome find man!! I think that one's on everyone's wish list. Very, very nice and congrats on the banner.

I agree that due to the historic nature of the coin alone, I would get it professionally graded and put in a holder.

wow Nice!!!! way to go man!
