I had one hour to hunt after work today before dark, had nowhere to go but the same place I've been beating up for the past 4 years. The safari screamed silver with a good solid 38 hit. 4 inches down was this beautiful lady staring me in the face!!

wow, that thing is beautiful! You may get more views if you change the title to "1806 Draped Bust Quarter!" that is a superb find.

OMG !!! HEY T-NET ! This is a BANNER Find !!! I can count on one hand the number of Draped Bust silvers dug up and posted here since I joined in
2008 . Please people vote this one up top ! This is a truly rare find , and Banner worthy all day long !!! Congratulations !

Sweet coin that is!! congrats on it for sure:notworthy:

testing123 - You got it ! This should be titled 1806 Draped Bust SILVER !!! (Maybe this explains the underwhelmed responses to this incredible find !)

Capped Silver is uncommon, but Draped is SUPER RARE to dig! This is one amazing find!!!

Congrats,

Buck

She was showing some boobage on that coin. What a beauty!

Beautiful Silver coin.. I don't remember seeing one like that.. Very nice. Congratulations.

It's always nice when a beautiful lady is staring you in the face, especially if she's that silver beauty! Congrats!

Looks like the frost heaves of winter paid off for you!

Same spot that I've dug a couple of US large cents, and a late 1700's spanish half reale

Great find!! Draped bust silver is very hard to come by. That is rarer than a 1877 Indian Head or 1909 s VDB. I vote BANNER.

Would anyone be able to put an estimated grade on this coin?? I'm thinking in the range of AG and G4??

Hmmmm...I changed the thread title because of the suggestions mentioned but it only shows when you drill into the thread but not the title in the forum list

It appears that you have a "Browning-1" variety. 1806/5. Look closely at the 6. Top of the "5", (shadow), appears to continue after the top of the "6". Also....it looks as though the "6" is filled in slightly which would be the bottom of the "5". Pics aren't big enough for me to see. Poster has to look at it through a loop or mag. glass to be sure. I cannot enlarge pics enough. BEAUTIFUL COIN!!! BANNER! Hogge REVISION..........At first I thought B-1.....but reverse doesn't match. Only reverses that match are B-2 and B-3. Would like to see CLOSEUPS of date and coins as a whole, front and back. If he has the "overdate", AND, reverse of B-2 or 3, then this could be a GOOD -1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. JUST SPECULATION at this point. I need closeups.

Awesome and Rare find!!! Im voting Bannner!

He has the same broken "I' and "T" punches as in the Browning 2 and 3. The overdate is the KEY!
