I haven't posted here in awhile but I had to share this find. I finally found my first 1700's US silver coin and it's all I could have ever hoped for and more. It's a 1796 Draped Bust Dime JR-6 variety with visible die crack through the date. I found it yesterday, about 4-5" down at the edge of a corn field. As soon as I saw it I knew I had something special.

What an incredible find, and I have to admit to a little jealousy seeing how I just can't seem to put my coil over one of those beauties after 20+ years of pounding hundreds of colonial sites. WTG man!!

I agree with Mike this is Banner worthy - very rare that we see 1790's American Silver coins posted here . Incredible find !

Very rare indeed, and thats the 2nd 1790s silver dime ive seen posted on here this year. Congrats!! You say red book value=$1000, i say collector value you=$Priceless!!!
