Very sweet! Hope you find more great stuff from that site. Congratulations on a banner find! :icon_thumright:

Steve

Totally awesome find! I'm sure your ecstatic about finding that one.

Your 1793 looks a whole lot clearer and better than my 1907 IH cent I found last Sunday(Father's Day). But still I'm tickled about finding it.:hello2: Congratulations on your find!

Here is my penny's worth.

Absolutely a great find... I only hope someday to come close to something like yours. Great JOB!!!!!!!!

Wow! Nice! Now go back and find it's chain sister!

Wow and in great shape.

From the detail, that beauty must have been lost not long after circulation. I agree, this should go BANNER! Only 11,056 minted? 220 years old? SWEEEEEET!

What an awesome find- congrats!

I'm with Steve....what else did you find there? :)

Congratulations. I would l like to see an updated pic of the cleaned coin if you decided to do anything additionally to it.

Hello Folks
Numerous other coins from that era came out of that field. Unfortunately the corn grew in and I am eagerly awaiting it to be cut down to continue searching the field
I finally decided to sell the coin through Stacks and Bowers at their Philadelphia sale going on now until September 20th.
Here is their professional description of the coin and photos.

" Obviously a dug example, both sides are overall rough with sandy brown encrustation that is most pronounced in and around the central reverse. The surface build up interferes with the design only in the aforementioned area, where the denomination ONE CENT is hardly perceptible, but elsewhere we note at least outline definition to the major devices. A shallow graze in the left obverse field is also mentioned for accuracy. The first of the Liberty Cap cents, the 1793 is a scarce to rare issue in all grades, and the present example will certainly find many willing buyers among early copper enthusiasts.
PCGS# 1359"
Thank everyone for for the congrats!

Hope it goes for a pretty penny.... pardon the pun. :laughing7:

Can't wait to see what it goes for.
