Would it be better to buy an older 3030 vs a brand new model and just upgrade the gaskets? I could save almost $1k that way, or are the upgrades and warranty worth that extra money? I have never had a minelab detector before.
Hello everybody, I purchased an excal 2 at the end last season and I realize that Im not getting the value out of it because I just dont get the chance to do much water hunting. So im looking to dump the Excal for something very inexpensive that I can take to the beach 2 or 3 times a summer...
I have been waiting to snipe off a good beach detector for about 2 weeks now and finally one came along. I am happy to announce that I am the proud owner of a brand new MineLab Excalibur II and it only cost me $885 shipped. This was an auction with no reserve and I got lucky. It is from a dealer...
Yesterday I drove about 35 minutes to go detect. As soon as I turn on my detector it goes into the "CE" error. I turn it off and on, no success. I detach and reattach the coil, clean the connections, it works erratically for about 10 seconds and I get a CE again. I tried and tried, and it...
Ok so any of you who have been reading my posts might know that I have not been into metal detecting for all that long. Thus far I have done all of my detecting with a Fisher F2 and I will have to say dollar for dollar I couldn't have asked for more, it is a fantastic starter rig. Not too long...
Hello,
What would you suggest I upgrade to from Eurotek Pro DD? I was thinking about Minelab 705, what are your thoughts about it? I am not hunting in parks but mostly on fields and forests.
Since the Excal doesn’t have a full-charge indicator, it is often a guessing game to fully charge the battery but not overcharge it and decrease battery life. For a while, I was charging my Excal 1hr per 1hr use (i.e., 1:1). After getting stuck with a low battery on a lonely stretch of beach...

Here's a good video of a Minelab X-terra 50 in action detecting on a (windy) farmers field permission in the North East on England. This was my first time out with the X-Terra 50 having upgraded from a Garrett Ace 250 and I liked the X-Terra a lot more than the garrett. I hope you like the...

I have a brand new Garrett ATX Extreme Pulse Induction Metal Detector.
I got into metal detecting awhile back and decided to buy it.... then like other hobbies of mine I never went out. it literally was delivered to me and then sat on the top shelf in my closet until today. lol
Anyway I am...
I am wondering if I am just unlucky, inexperienced, or a little of both. I have had my Xterra for a while now, and have been out a lot with it. I seem to find a ton of wheaties at houses, many have been over 6 inches deep. They have a distinct noise, repeatable tone, and the TID (which I don't...
Hi everyone, I live in Granby, CT and am just getting back into metal detecting. Did alot in the 70's with my Dad, don't even recall the name of the machine used back then. So far, I'm doing research and I've tried out my Minelab Safari several times and all I've found is rusty nails. I've...
I just received my 705 in the mail yesterday. I upgraded from an Ace250. The Ace is a VERY respectable machine. I learned how to use it very effectively in all metal mode, and found silver from as old as 1842 (and living in a state that has only been officially occupied since 1847, that's a...
If anyone's interested...This place has (a few) copies, in stock, of "Mastering the Minelab Quattro" and "Mastering the Minelab Quattro and Safari". Reasonable cost and The Gentleman who runs it, Jay, seems pretty nice.

So?
Anyone?
I'm specifically looking for a salt-water/wet-sand machine for the New England coast. VERY mineralized. Thinking a PI is the only way to go...

I have some placer claims in Atlin, BC, but have never tried a detector there. The claims are at the top end of some of the known creeks. I was thinking about buying a new detector for a trip in a few weeks and could use some advise from anybody that has detected there. Is the ground too hot...
NEW PRICE: $800! This detector was used once to compare to another and is still in the original box. I was purchased from Kellyco in March of 2014 but I never sent in the warranty card.
Went to the local Pawn shop on Saturday and could not belive my eyes. I found a Minelab Safari in Excellent condition for $29.00 dollars. I believe I almost passed out in the store!!!. They even included a new set of batteries so I could try it outside their store. After I purchased it and...
Found these in a 20' by 30' area at the front of a yard. The back of the yard turned to fill after that area and these all came from the small area in the front. It was a good day!
Found this a couple of weeks ago. I found 2 barber halves last year but this is by far the best condition and I can read LIBERTY on the head ribbon/band. Made my day!Glad I got the Etrac last year!
Has been a tough year so far. I have about 8 weeks in since I started detecting this year. Anyway the only really exciting finds for me have been the 1908-O Barber half in F-VF condition and the 1899 Barber quarter which is the first 19th century silver I've found in many years. Anyway it is...
I have one used upper rod for an E-Trac available for $42 shipped to lower 48 states. There are scratches on the rod. This would be a good replacement rod for someone removing their Sunray probe.
