Found a little bit of clad earlier in the afternoon but decided to move to a spot that had seen more traffic in the past. Got serious with some digging of lower signals was hoping for some gold today. Got a solid 08 conductive reading and decided to try it. After making my ground entry via...
This is my first post, so i'll try to keep everything short and sweet. I live in crawford co arkansas, and figured I'd go out on my grand parents land today and do a few sweeps as it's right off the Ozarks. Anyways while detecting a creek I came across this rock. Something I've never seen...
Hey y'all,
Maybe I should have posted in 'What is it?' rather than coins, because I have no idea if this is even a coin, though I figured if it is a coin you'd be the guys to ask. But anyway, found this in Southern Ontario, 10 inches down around a baseball diamond that used to be farmed at...

Here is a somewhat recent photo of the large cent after a long soak in oil.
I'm surprised I never put this picture over here already, I just realized I had this photo after having it for 2 months or more today when I...
Hello everyone,
I found this item on the beach, near the Pacific. I believe I found 2 of these, but I can only find one at the moment. It registers as metallic, of course. Any thoughts in what it might be?
Went to a friends yard today this is the only coin that turned up, think the mosquitoes got more than V cents worth of blood! Looks like the date showing is 1903, maybe should try the ketchup cleaning method ?
If it cleans up good will post again, thanks for checking out todays finds !
First I found my biggest ever mans silver ring which was between four and five inches down and then about five feet away there was a signal that was showing up in the 17 to 18 range. It was a faint mellow sounding tone and very smooth sounding in pinpoint mode. For some reason after making a...
These are all of the paper shotgun shells that I have found so far this year, not counting the paper shotgun shells from today.
Thanks for Looking, Coinman123
Hi all,
I bought a Gold Bug Pro a few months ago because I read that it was tailored to highly mineralized areas like the East Fork river. I've been there a few times but have found only trash; I've looked on the inside bends, on the banks, in the middle of the river, etc., with no luck. I...
I went to a new location to metal detect at, but the second I got there it realized that going there might have been a mistake. On the maps this place had looked so good, and it was right in the middle of a colonial town. As I walked down the trail I could already see junk on the surface. There...
I thought that this thread idea would be kind of cool.
I'm wondering how long it took you to find, and if you found each find,
Putting which region you live in would help: Ex. Midwestern United States

Hi everyone, after my wife bringing this up for years we finally decided to give metal detecting a try. Our oldest is now 7 years old and we think it would be something fun to do with the entire family and a great excuse to explore the outdoors. I run classic gaming websites for a living and...
I am posting this info for all to see as I already responded to another member concerning metal detecting in the Broward County Florida parks (ALLOWED ON NOT ALLOWED--ANSWERED)

My brother found an old stone carved statue in a field. Roughly 4" tall. It's a woman with with a cloak type garment carrying a basket with her left arm and her right hand is up to her mouth. It looks very old. Thanks in advance for any help identifying this item.
I haven't posted anything on here in a while, and haven't really gotten used to the website, so I thought I would share with everyone one of my better finds this year. I was hunting an older brick house that my church owns, and I got a scratchy higher tone with my AT Pro between the road and the...

Past years ( 1999-2000)! Here are a few great finds from springs and swim holes along the Suwannee River in Florida. WATCH OUT! It is better to dive during the winter, when the water temperature is low, and the cold blooded gators are SLOWER than you! Big logs underwater will make you look...
SCUBA Diving and underwater metal detecting at a swim hole in the eastern part of NC, led to the discovery of a 0.80 oz gold chain. 14KT and 34" in length. The GOLD CHAIN was found diving in 12 feet of water. Great viz, and appeared as a "PILE OF GOLD" underwater. When diving with...

Hello to all,
This is my first post on treasurenet so please be gentle...My question is about towing a PI detector coil on a sled behind a boat. The wreck I am searching for is in 100-150' deep water and am wanting to detect cannons & anchors etc within my budget (Magnetometers will do the job...
Hey guys, I'm 17 and love metal detecting! I just wanted to see if there are any others in my area that would like to meet up and scour some sites in the future. I live in North Scottsdale.
When you sign-up for this Treasure Hunting site, they ask you to fill-in "M_____ Detecting". The correct answer should be "etal". However, the accepted answer is "Metal", thus ignoring the double "M". Am I too anal or should the accepted answer be changed?
Well like it says I finally upgraded from my old Garrett to an MXT. I found a good deal on a used one. I can't wait to go try it out. Does anybody have any tips or advice on the MXT? Thank you
