🔎 UNIDENTIFIED What is it? Magnifying glass?

Found this piece in Pennsylvania, found at a 1840ish - 1890s site. Other things I found at the site is a Conestoga bell, 1848 large cent and harmonica pieces. Some have suggested it's an old magnifying glass which I can see. The top hole is square on the back, maybe holed with a square nail? And the front side of that hole is worn like it was pivoting a lot, or it had some weight hanging from it. Seems to made of copper. Any suggestions are appreciated

My first thought was... bed frame bolt cover. But I've not seen any with a hole in the center. It sort of defeats the purpose...
