Thanks to the weather, some luck and some MDing savy the year ended for me on a good note. Got my first Barber Quarter! 8) I was just telling Nate that next year my goal is a Barber Quarter. Guess I have to set another goal. ::)

The last week has been great. Weather in the 40’s to 50’s. I have gotten 3 firsts in the last week – Seated Dime, V-Nickel and Barber Quarter. ;D ;D The Barber Quarter came from my mother’s 1853 house(picture below). We have hunted this place a lot. The grassy area out front has produced Indian Heads so I thought there might be good stuff in the ivy. So I used a board to “mash down” the ivy so I could get the coil closer to the ground. Sure enough after 10 minutes – Barber Quarter. Nate found a couple neat things at this site. He will post in the future.

Other silver, wheats and relics came from about 5 different sites we have hunted in the last few days. Other picture is from a park on Lake Erie that Nate found a couple silver from on Thurday.

Good luck all in 2007!

Very nicely done bud!! You deserved it!!

Oddly enough, a Barber Quarter is on my list of things to find for 2007! I found Washington, Standing, and Seated, but no Barber Quarters! I also need to find a Large Cent!

What a year !!!! I love those Barbers.....Got my first too this year....

It amazes me, Brian, that you have found 99 IH's yet no large cent. Add to that seated dimes, shield nickels, barber dimes,...even a 3 cent peice. ::) ;D Next year we both will get that elusive large cent. No Barber Quarter is also a surprise. I think you should get that also next year.

M,

nice group of finds.

Congrat on that first Barber.

Watch yourself in your Moms ivy; nice

No, no, no.
You got it this year ;D Now go out next year
and enjoy yourself and find a bunch.

Nice photos, thanks for posting. That looks
like a good park for detecting.

have a good un...................

congratulations on your first barber quarter! hows about a barber half for a new goal?

how did you get those old wheats so nice and cleaned up?

Congrats on all the great firsts this week Bob,
glad I caught up to this one. Been busy writing
and submitting some of my poetry trying to get published.
Hope you all had a great XMas and happy new year.

Smiles!

cool beans 8)

Great job Bob on that Barber 1/4!!

My last chance for that large cent will be tomorrow. Spencer and I are spending the day at the Pleasant Home Camp Meeting grounds again. Keep your fingers crossed!!

The layout on those pics is very nice too.
Happy New Year to You, Nate and the rest of your family.

Dan

Congrats Mirage...

That Barber is in great shape and will look good in the collection.
Keep trying that Ivy at your mom's house. It's gotta produce more.

As for the large cent for You and Danimal.
I know where 2 have been pulled out and I am making arrangements for that next spring.
(sorry it couldn't be sooner)

Looks like the weather gods have been good, many firsts are being pulled out of the ground when there should be at least a foot of snow now.

bsco, your list for next year is shared by me, I think large cents are pretty rare up here tho'. Don't worry we will get 'em next year( I also have yet to find ANY half, and I'd love to see a morgan in my dirt pile.)

Zoso, I agree, I love this weather. I'm in WI and I'll probably be getting out to some thawed ground this week. But I have to say that this global warming thing is getting a little creepy. I mean digging in January is amazing, I hate ice(I fish) and I'm not very fond of snow, but what is this doing to our environment??

Awesome finds and pics Mirage, congrats on the Barber! HH, Mike

Excellent!
