Thanks to the weather, some luck and some MDing savy the year ended for me on a good note. Got my first Barber Quarter! 8) I was just telling Nate that next year my goal is a Barber Quarter. Guess I have to set another goal. ::)

The last week has been great. Weather in the 40’s to 50’s. I have gotten 3 firsts in the last week – Seated Dime, V-Nickel and Barber Quarter. ;D ;D The Barber Quarter came from my mother’s 1853 house(picture below). We have hunted this place a lot. The grassy area out front has produced Indian Heads so I thought there might be good stuff in the ivy. So I used a board to “mash down” the ivy so I could get the coil closer to the ground. Sure enough after 10 minutes – Barber Quarter. Nate found a couple neat things at this site. He will post in the future.

Other silver, wheats and relics came from about 5 different sites we have hunted in the last few days. Other picture is from a park on Lake Erie that Nate found a couple silver from on Thurday.

Good luck all in 2007!

Nice find and Congratulations Bob, That is one fine Lady you found there. I really like your presentation.

Hopefully we all will find those coins that have been eluding us for so long. My hope is that I find a Gold Coin this next year.

Again Congratulations on your first Barber Quarter, She is a Beautiful Lady.

Best Wishes to you and and your family in 2007. Hope you have a Great Detecting Year!

I always look forward to the pictures in your posts. Great job!

Bob ,
Sweet barber. Your mom has nice home. Good Job looking in the over look spots.

Dan,
Are you meeting up with scott at the grove??

HH, Don

Thank you all for the comments and well wishes. :)

Zoso - We will look forward to hunting the silver mine in the spring. Maybe yet this winter we can hook up down in the metroparks. I'll send you and Dan some more info on a couple places.

As for the nice wheat pennies - I don't necessarily think it's the cleaning method as it just happened that the one spot we found some of these pennies was kind to them. I use amonia and then a olive oil soak. But as you can see from the 1917 penny - if it's bad, it's bad and no cleaning will fix it. :P

My mom's house was built in 1853. However, it was moved about 100 ft to put in a road in 1917. I am sure a bunch of good stuff got covered up.

HH,
Bob

Tear down the house nothin', mirage get yourself a jackhammer and get that stupid road outta yer way. Just don't tell anyone I told you to do it.

The last month has been great for you! Congrats........But with the weather still nice here in the northeast ,I'm sure will see plenty of first finds here in 2007.........WTG
