CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY...... THEY DROPPED THE BILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies & Gents, it was through no small effort on ALL of you that Senator Hayes has decided to PULL the Bill.

I just got off of a conference call with the Senator and members of HSSPC. The Senator acknowledged the mass mailings, and said he was grateful that he heard from so many of us and that he would drop not only the bill but he would like to come down to KW for a meeting with our group so that the next time we will be included in any legislation that concerns our interest. I also invited him out for a dive on the Atocha site which he handedly accepted. Stay tuned for more info….. lots more I need to tell ya.

Hey... Alex... the fat lady hasn't quite sung yet!

We have a few more "surprises" in store for the socialist arkeologie community!

P. S. We see the Spains has told the poor Peruvians to "piss off"...
Next they will be telling the heirs - who actually owned most of the cargo
the same thing!....

Ha. ha, yes, the rats are guarding the cheese...
and it appears the Honorable Judge Clarence Thomas is one of them...

Fantastic news. My thanks goes out to all who wrote, emailed or called our government representatives and expressed their disapproval of the bill.

Tom

We need to take this victory for "The Treasure Coast" and
use its momentum to help the Honorable Governor Rick Scot
get Florida, "Back to Work" and help, "To Clean House in Tallahassee!"

Capt Dom, if you haven't noticed yet, let me tell you that I haven't made a single comment in this bill, on any of its threads- be it a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

I believe in power of the people, by the people. So, congratulations and kudos for everyone here are in order.

That said, I will continue to explain and spread my points of view on the matter of treasure hunting for personal greed and "capitalistic" profit.. ;)

Explain, is something you will never do on this forum. Spread, on the other hand is something we have no control over, like a virus, it is hard to eradicate.
Capitalistic profit and personal greed have no bearing here.
A Socialists point of view has even less pertinence.

We salute Carl Fismer and Buddy Martin for tipping us off in time.

Hope he keeps his word and files that bill in the trash or burns it!

Thanks for the congratulations 8) ----

Then turn in your dive gear and graph papers then because you and I and many others here know that "archeology" is also for "capitalistic" profit.. it just comes in a different form!

Someone should start a "school of underwater anthropology"!

Using archaeological methodology that heavily relies upon "vertical stratification"
in high energy surf zone environments just makes no sense whatsoever...

Now here in America there are some of us who still believe in "free enterprise", capitalism
and the value of innovation that stems from the private sector -not being stifled by a socialist
mentality - whose logic, drawn to its logical extreme would put every antique store
out of business. And, make anyone who wishes to own a piece of our
historic maritime past a criminal.

If we take a step back we can see pretty soon most of Europe will be bankrupt do to their closed way of thinking and treating themselves to a pampered life. Then we just go over there buy it and just pave it over for farmland.

Someone should start a school and why not you. When it comes to teaching the ones that are best suited for it are the ones with experience and an open mind. Just remember including us amateurs into your subject material so there are no wars.

Captain, That's great news! If you per chance talk to Senator Hays again, extend my invitation to join us at the 4th Annual Treasure Hunters Cookout April 28th. I will again extend the invitation to the Governor who apparently ignored it last year. If he attends, I'm sure the Senator will get a good idea of the impact bills like this one have on the Florida economy.

We are being bought by the Chinese and the Angolans. Everywhere I look, I see American created and led companies doing lay offs and closing doors..

Well, we Americans are closing this socialist arkeologie door, but we're doing fine in the treasure business - except for the Odyssey theft.

I had a hunch you thought that way about us, Alexandre.

Why don't you post on a Chinese treasure board instead? Do they have those?

In your last thread you stated you had a job interview and it was not in your own country and since the failure of "green economy plan" The spanish economy is like its old spanish fleet; sunk! I credit Spain with the first idea of the submarine just designed to resemble spanish galleons. You speak down to the American people and their way of life so maybe its time you step back and take a long look at your people and their way of life. I wouldn't think someone as racist as yourself would be in a forum with the people you put down so much.

Well, Bum Luck, I will be a bit childish now and tell you that, if you bother to read, I only replied to what bluehunter said:

and, bluehunter... let me say this again:

I AM NOT SPANISH! I am Portuguese!

Not only the Portuguese have kicked Spanish butt twice, in 1385 and 1641-1665, but we even once
went with an army all the way into Madrid, in 1706, and sacked the joint to the ground! ;)

right the portugese -- helped loot brazil and some other parts of south america and certain places in africa --the spanish got mexico and most of "north america" in the papal decree dividing up the "new world" --

please remember your history folks. --in the old days spain and the portugese were not friends but foes --each wanted to rule the world. (and each other)

1706 that would have been during the "war of spainish succussion " -- when the french king from the house of bourbon took over as the king of spain as well in 1701 ( his cousin had died leaving no heirs to the throne)-- the other european country's said no "one king shall rule two country's " as it put too much power in one set of hands -- so they warred upon france & spain until the king gave up the french crown to a kinsman (in 1714) --this war stopped the flow of treasure from the new world to spain from 1711 to 1715 (as spain feared the fleets would be taken or lost at sea) --this 4 year backlog of treasure was what made the 1715 fleet one of the richest treasure fleets that ever sailed * and we all know what happened to it.

Yes, we split the world in two! Finders, keepers! ;)

But now, it's the other way around. The former colonies are buying the old master's frail and unkempt belongings... ;)
