YEAH.... Treasure Hunters Finely Band Together and Accomplish Something!

awesome news!!!!!!!!!!! if they had accepted our revised wording it would have been even better. if sen. hays keeps his word and includes us in the next discussion we may do even better.
stay respectful and professional on these forums because if you don't they will notice and use it the next time around.
lots of thanks need to go out to all that took this seriously and responded, especially in such a short time frame!
look forward to meeting some of you at the cookout.
chuck.

Well, I'll be the first to admit it......I WAS WRONG!......"I didn't really think you'd ever muster enough voice to get the whole bill trashed". :notworthy: :headbang:  One of those rare times when you can actually be happy about being FLAT OUT WRONG!
GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB!

Portuguese or not you called a Spanish treasure your underwater heritage. You were claiming Spain. The real victory here is that a group of people stood up to a bunch of one sided politicians and won. So we have our pride back as a group.

Well, we Americans are closing this socialist arkeologie door, but we're doing fine in the treasure business - except for the Odyssey theft.

I had a hunch you thought that way about us, Alexandre.

Why don't you post on a Chinese treasure board instead? Do they have those?

Well, Bum Luck, I will be a bit childish now and tell you that, if you bother to read, I only replied to what bluehunter said:

If we take a step back we can see pretty soon most of Europe will be bankrupt do to their closed way of thinking and treating themselves to a pampered life. Then we just go over there buy it and just pave it over for farmland.

and, bluehunter... let me say this again:

I AM NOT SPANISH! I am Portuguese!

Alexandre: I don't care if you're Polish.

If you bother to read, - and comprehend -, it has nothing to do with your nationality, just your attitude.

THIS IS ALSO COMMENTING ON THE THREAD CALLED INDY'S JOURNAL
who doesn't appear to accept everyone's comments:

When folks purchase a shipwreck coin, very seldom are they purchasing it as an investment.
I know this because I have sold and purchased more than a few.

People are "buying in" to the passion of the "event" - the "quest" and adventure of exploration.
Wearing the coin makes them a part of the event, abet even if only in a romantic or vicarious way
and level. Personally I hate the word "investor" when it comes to shipwreck exploration.
Any of the few but very special people that have contributed any funding in the form of
capital or equipment to our operations - I have always considered "patrons" rather than
investors.

Not everyone can walk away from what supports them and risk everything to
actually participate in a living adventure... Especially when it is surrounding the study of the
past in a maritime environment, where man really has little understanding of the actual
risks or dangers involved. The type of shipwreck exploration we
do is investigative in nature.

The cultural "heritage" or war grave argument are ridiculous "logical" extremist
positions that have been miss-used by interests groups to
suit their own sorted ends.

When this happens in our society governed by men,
we as Americans
have a Constitution and Bill of Rights that site "cause"
for individual and civil disobedience.

Like in the past, most Europeans who are use to being
treated as "cattle" and lead do not have the ability
to comprehend or understand why some of us
are willing to risk it all, just laugh and
flip our middle finger up
at the jokers guiding the
rule of law!

It's as much ridicule as stating that Spanish gold was looted from Peru and is a product of exploitation of the Native man by the Conqueror man.

If that would be true, then no would one would buy "blood coins", because instead of being a symbol of passion, of quest, of adventure and exploration, they would be in fact symbols of opression and death.

Capt.Dom, is calling one side of the coin, Alexandre, is calling the other side of the coin. If you flip a coin into the air it has a 50/50 chance of landing heads, or tails. Rarely will it land on edge.

It's the buyers choice to decide which side his coin lands on. Either way, it still represents the history of the coin. Dell

Alex, you are off topic...were celebrating a victory...not disscusing your beliefs. We see through your divide and conquer tactics.

Alexandre
have you yet to get the idea even if the stuff could not be sold they would still hunt and find it???
The rest:
Has any confirmation of the original post happened?

Do you really believe your own bull crap Alex.... I have recently read a recent synopsis of the life and times of:

I am so happy for you, :violent1: That now, you have put your time in the underwater "trenches"
you have managed to, in the process,
hi jack the Azore's "Cultural Heritage" for mother, Portugal
and your own ends.

Good thing the PAPA split the World up back then and gave you
guys the bottom half!

Let me know when you wish to sell some of your own stash.... :tongue3:

For those of you celebrating, don't let it stop there. The Task Force for Metal Detecting Rights is continuing the fight, here is the email I got today. For another possible victory coming up.

Congratulations! It really makes a difference when we all stand together. In Kentucky, SB 105 passed in the Senate http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/12rs/SB105.htm and soon this legislation will be brought up for a vote in the House.

Once we have the HB number, we will update the Task Force web site and provide an email link so you can email all of the House Representatives asking them to pass the bill.

Together, our voice is being heard!

Like I said before, i've seen no legal documentation of the proposed amendments to the bill being dropped. It's been several days now. I hope Sen. Alan Hays wasn't just giving lip service in order to stop the bombardment of emails and such regarding this matter. here is the related bill- http://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2012/868

Not only the Portuguese have kicked Spanish butt twice, in 1385 and 1641-1665, but we even once went with an army all the way into Madrid, in 1706, and sacked the joint to the ground! ;)

While that's all well and good, what have you(Portugal) done lately?

510 years ago, we attacked and conquered parts of Yemen, Oman, Iran and Irak and chocked the Persian Gulf.

510 years later, we still have Portuguese warships in the Persian Gulf, in order to kick some pirate's ass.

(and we are fighting in Afhganistan, too)
