Now we're back to the difference between the top of the line V-Flex machine vs the bottom of the line FBS.Weird how Minelab makes a machine for for the most part detector alone a few hundred dollars more but yet it doesn't perform to much better then a cheaper Minelab detector and have as many features? I would have thought the Safari had 99% of what the 705 has to offer and then offer more on top of that other then what I had stated above.
Just wanted to say I het that when most think of goin used there getting someone else's problem but I am.one of those who I did get a new machine & even had an extra or 2 only had 3 hours or so on the machine so it was new but used used price, new machine, new full warranty aswell with a used pricetag
I read the number one copied is the GPX series because there are many sold in Africa and other foreign nations during gold "rushes" and people buy them like crazy without regard to authenticity but soon find out the fakes don't perform in the field.I didn't even know they had counterfeit models out there like that ...and I bet you anything the #1 detector to be copied is the Minelab E-Trac or Expolrer models. Ya I'm staying away that's for sure! Thanks for the heads up Wayne and also the great info you provided for me on the Minelabs as well.
Chris, just be careful, there are some counterfeit Minelab/ Garrett and Fisher detectors and accessories out there. If you buy used, make sure the guy has a following on the forums or you use a site with some guarantee.

Here's what you find on Minelab's site.If a seller provides you with the Serial # located on the Minelab detector ... is there a way to verify on Minelabs website or another way if the serial # is genuine?
