Nice. Arapahoe Prospecting Park? Did you get down to the black/gray rocks?

i went down there yesterday and yes i did get to the gray and black rocks. that pic is from today right at federal and I76. i did my best at the first falls to the west of the parking lot.

most excellent! You really mean Federal at 61st right? I guess that's close to home for you too which makes it totally cool :). #hometowngold

did you have fun skiing today?
yup, beautiful in the mountains today too! That said, I will have to scratch my gold itch this week dressed in more layers than I skied in from the looks of the weather forecast. Won't stop me tho...gotta get on the gold!

Hello, you bring up a great point about seasoned gold or different colored types of gold... it' a gold signature to that specific location. I have yuba river gold and san Gabriel canyon gold in one gold vial. You can see how different in color they are, yuba river looks lile a brown gold, San Gabriel canyon gold is very brite and sun yellow.

exactly and thanks for sharing that info. Someday I'll get to both of those places myself on my grand tour of the CA goldfields :-D

Good LORD, its freaking cold today! I may try a 1/2 day on Wednesday and hit one of the creeks in Aurora if it's going to be that warm. :)

BGT got a new website!

I'll definitely be out on Wed too! Times like right now are good to go for a walk along an interesting creek in town to look for points worth visiting with sampling gear...or just some armchair google prospecting I suppose :)

PS good luck in Aurora. Lot of sand there so seek out places you can see some cobbles. Likely the faster parts of a creek will be the part where the sand overburden has been stripped away by the water. I would expect the hilly areas of south Aurora to be most productive but you never know!!

how am i suppose to get down over the bank of the stream with a foot of snow... WAIT i know... ill take my toboggan! DAMN YOU WINTER!

Never made it out, and today isnt looking any better for playing hooky.
Not above freezing for the next 5 days...

bring your sled to get down the slope to the creek and installation rope to help you climb back out thru all this snow and ice...and bring a friend, not a safe day to be out alone. Too much slip and fall risk out there and I still want you around :)

the water falls i was at has easy access and pretty easy to get around. i aint goin no where theres to much gold out there! i know i have gold fever... i never stop thinking about it or where it might be, plus i always want to go look for it and it seems to be getting stronger.

im gonna stay home and safe today. im actually doing some mods to my cart!
