I'm not that person. but I did raise three Wyoming-bred bobcat cubs with my two young children until they were old enough for homes. We turned them into complete mush. My daughter did not mind sharing her room with them. And now she owns three house cats, my son has two house cats. They were smart and wonderful. Miss them.

That's cool! We live 40 acres of forest and have had all types of babies. The thing is they don't realize that they are wild animals.

As a rule, bobcats do not make good pets. They're manageable when they are young, but once they mature it's a whole different ballgame. I don't know if being bred in captivity would make any difference, but I guess it's possible.

I'll make friends with a wild critter, but never have one as a pet. Wild animals need to be out in the wild, doing whatever it is they do that comes natural to them. They don't belong in cages. JMHO.

True. The three I had were either going to end up dead or as fur coats so they got a better deal from me. They ended up going to three separate rural homes with people who know how to take care of them. It never crossed my mind that I would have the cubs, but I bailed out a friend who couldn't take care of them. The cats are smart. People have actually trained them to sit on the toilet! And they roam around the property. The bobcat housecat cross, the Manx, is a good compromise if you want an interesting but more manageable pet. They have the stub tail and other bobcat traits.
