The Sierra campgrounds are all closing up for the winter, so I thought I'd go see what the campers left.
The first campground is a rather small one with 10-12 campsites. I immediately start pulling cents, Canada cents!
Holy smokes, it's like a whole collection in one outing!
Also a 2 phennig and a 5 pence.

They weren't in just one campsite either, but rather dispersed throughout the campground in nearly every campsite! :dontknow:

Once I felt like I had given that campground a good going over I headed up the road to another small campground. I started finding clad right away, as well as some random junk. But at one site I started pulling wheat cents. I cleaned up that site and went to the next one over and found several more wheats.

Once I felt like I had harvested all the wheat, I moved on to the rest of the sites.
Lots of random junk and some clad. Also, a giant sized homemade fishing weight?

That ring looked so good in the hole it gave me quite a rush, but once I felt it I knew it was a junker.

I was shocked not to find a single silver coin after finding so many old pennies.
Oh well, can't get silver every time out there, or it wouldn't be as fun when you do get some I suppose.

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!

All those pennies are copper too.
Weird that you got so many coppers and no silver.
Someone cherry picked the sites for the silver I wonder.

Great day of digging 👌

Looks like a lot of our Canadian neighbors stopped to use that campground ! That is a lot of foreign coins for an outing. Nice finds.

Outstanding Achievement
Congratulations
Very Very Nice!!!!

You must have wore out 3 digging tools to dig all that copper
lol nice job

thats a lotta pennies, and so many canadiens, crazy. looks like fun though

That's amazing - all those cents from so many years! You could put them in a book as a collection and then add to it.
I once detected around a commercial building, an animal hospital, including a small yard where people let their pets do what they needed. I found lots of cents but not a single other type of coin. I know it had not been detected previously. They used all types of change in the business. Why just cents dropped in the yard I do not know.
