I told her thats what i mean, not enough time to enjoy myself ! Of course i moved my bed because i have always enjoyed sleeping in the barn. especially since she told me it would be good for my health if i left house a couple of days !!! Hang in there nutso.? I'm in the exact same boat as you are.? I do much of the house work.? My wife is great though!? I love her to death!? It's hard doing so much, but, she is doing the same thing as I.? By the way,.....we both complain, both her and I? :)

You'd think after 20 years I'd get it right but with her birthday and anniversary one day apart (27th vs. 28th) I still can't always remember which is which. But when I said I ought to get retirement benefits after 20 years, she handed my digger to me. I thought she was saying "go MDing" but then she said you're gonna dig your own grave if you keep this up. To this day I still don't remember seeing a grin. ;D BTW, she's my 1st & only-no real complaints here.

Had a great time reading all of your comments and some are true to fact that we men sometimes take our wife's for granted. I too lost my wife of 19 years. What a shock to the system. But I found a wonderful new wife on the internet just before 9/11, we planned on getting married the following year, but due to 9/11 and me being only 8 miles from the Pentagon. I called her and asked her to marry me when I got back home. After three days on a bus, she was the best looking woman you could imagine. We drove out to NV where my dad was the best man for us. That was just over three years ago and let me tell you it was the best thing I done in years. From that day on I promised myself I would not let a day go by without letting my wife know how much I loved her and appreciated all of the things she does for me. One last thing, she was the one who got me interested in MDing, which she enjoys too.

DDigger, you should check out the internet dating services for a man, you might be surprised.

I never intended it to be known, but it came about anyway. You can't find a better group of people than what this forum holds. Thanks to all for the sentiments expressed. HH

Clarification : i didnt lose a spouse ---we were happily married she was happy and i was married --- but she was happier elsewhere so she took off for a little over 5 years and just started spenin time with my son agian last summer---I did lose a daughter in 93 in a auto accident she was only 17 months and it is hard...so i decided when i first got into detecting that my first big find was going to be dedicated to her. So when i find somethin good it better be big!

But the ex leavin my son with me was probably the best thing she ever gave me....she still cant get him to spend the night at her place....but all is better with her back in his life as much as I hate to admit it

DigginD,
Available MD"er here but if that a pic of ya under your name------UHHHHHHHHHH might have to pass---LOL

I have to chime in here also. ;D

I have been married for 23 years to the best woman I have ever known. I have hunted avidly, and fished the bass tourney trails for 20 years, been very active in many clubs etc over the years. Now I am in to metal detecting. NOT once have I heard one complaint from my wife about my hobbies over the years. And here is the reason:

When we got together 23 years ago we had an agreement, which was:

She would NEVER EVER complain about my hunting and fishing and in return I would never tell her no for anything. If she wants new furniture, Frig, TV or whatever, she just goes and buys it. I never say NO and I never complain. This agreement has worked out perfectly for BOTH of us ;) ;D

Also realize that my wife hated, yes hated hunting and fishing!!!!!! About 3 years ago she took up fishing with me and is enjoying it. She also likes metal detecting so that helps too ;D

Just my .02 worth
