My brother, nephew, and I went to a spot today that I was guessing has never been hunted. It's an old homestead, and there is a tiny window of time between being frozen and then the grass being waist deep. We couldn't stay as long as I would have liked, the guys were freaked out by ticks, and did not want to stay. I could have stayed another five hours!!

My first signal of the hunt was a solid 97, and I was so happy to see an 1888 Vicky quarter, my first one ever! Then another one, the 1899!! I checked the hole and another Vicky, a dime. I put the pointer back in the hole and dislodged yet another silver, and then I started filming. I have never found a Vicky quarter, and the only Vicky dime I have found as a very smooth 1891. I'll try to get the video up... I think if I had found those coins I would be waving to my hunting buddies as they left and stayed there till dark. Would probably buy a good weed eater too and cut down 10' x 10' sections at a time and hunt them dry. Congratulations on such a wonderful find.

Great spill, now what are you afraid of, there's more crazy things in the cities than out in the bush.

Hey Pepperj, not really afraid of anything in particular. It's just very secluded, no cell service, and many wild animals. If the grass is still matted down later next week, I'm going to go back if I have the chance. I know there has to be more good things to be found.

Fantastic silver spill! Congrats!

Yep a TH'er would have to be dragged away from that spot kicking and screaming!

My family doesn't get it either.

Like I said there's more to worry about in the city parks/zoos. One thing I've always believed is that most animals rather take a wide berth around our smelly butts than get too close. Good luck on the return hunt, more Vickies await your return digging.

Very nice. Congrats on the spill.

Awesome spill.
To say it is tough to coax a Victorian quarter from the ground is an understatement for sure. I only managed one in 8 years. Two in one hole is a BANNER find. Not to mention the dime.

ULTRA COOL FINDS!!!!

Thanks Rick! It's definitely a personal banner find to me. I still have 95 percent of this location to detect, I really hope I can make it back before the grass gets out of control. There is a thick layer of dead matted long grass everywhere, so it's great to have a detector that has good depth. I think it goes without saying how happy I am with the Deus.
