Why We Feel The Need To Defend the 2nd Amendent

Can someone just shoot this thread and put everyone out of their misery?:D

Its hard for me to understand why any American would want gun control.
gun control will not stop crazies from killing,or stop criminals,or drug use
or anything else in the fing world.it will only effect law abiding citizens.

I think Rebel just likes to argue.....

Notice how rebel very very rarely starts his own thread. He's more like a little troll under the bridge that only comes out when he hears the footsteps:laughing7:

What bothers me is all of these "executive orders" he keeps signing. That is just a way to bypass the Constitution's balance of powers. He really thinks he is above the law and Congress is letting him get away with it.

Cliff

Every pres uses executive orders. Obama has sign far fewer than others. Not saying these are right or wrong just stating fact. No one is getting away with anything, executive orders are a perfectly legal part of the political process. Every president has used them. They have a lot of limitations and restrictions and must follow a prescribed process.

Again im not saying I agree or disagree with what is going on but it is quite common and very legal with respect to the political process of these United States of America. You don't have to like it but that does not make it illegal.

Thats an interesting statement. So guns owned by law abiding citizens are never the cause of unintended injuries or deaths in this country?

Unintended injuries and death,I have to say yes, but,a criminal doesn't doesn't UNINTENTIALLY kill someone.

of course they are !
they are the cause of premeditated injuries & deaths in this country also.
but so are cars,
Knives,
baseball bats,
and electric devices thrown, or accidentely knocked into bath tubs

but outlawing them is not going to end unintended injuries or deaths in this country,
much less premeditated ones.

someone who wants to kill will find a way.
how about Iodine or antifreeze in coffee ?

or a steep set of stairs ? better outlaw second floors !

Stockpicker, no matter what happens criminals are going to have guns. Taking the guns away only empowers criminals

In 2012 how many deaths or injuries were PREVENTED due to someone protecting themselves with a gun. In 2012 how many accidental deaths and injuries were CAUSED by lawful / legally owned guns. I don't know but the stats are out there might be helpful to get them posted to start framing these discussions with facts and stats instead of emotion and hyperbole. I'm in the middle with my thoughts on the subject but always like to base my belief on as much fact as possible.

I honestly don't think stats have anything to do with it.

only difference in stats would be cause of deaths,
and maybe an increase in gun deaths by criminals,
although if citizens are unarmed criminals wouldn't necessarily
feel they need to shoot, except in the case of witnesses

I would think stars on prevented injurys or death are impossible to find as they are impossible to determine.
