Why do metal detector testers not be honest

So true, I can put me and my wife in a field, beach or park with the same machine and she will smoke me every time.
She has hunted primarily with her CZ5 for the past 20 years, while I have tried every detector known to man just about. But I'm more methodical detectorist than she is, I go at a slow pace, even searching in a grid pattern, while she is out there swinging away. I've mentioned to her, she should slow down a bit to really search the area, she responds by showing me her finds and asking to see mine. It becomes a mute argument at that point hahaha.

Been there, done that. Case one: I followed someone... literally in his footsteps to find a man's gold band. I don't know his detector type but I was using a P I machine on a wet ocean beach. Case two: my twin (RIP) told me a tot lot was hunted out. Within 5 minutes, I found a silver ring and a quarter. Experience does count above the brand. When I detect a salt beach, I take a 6 inch step...swing...6 inch step...swing. I don't miss much. I have a Monster, CTX3030, Impulse 8 (out of print) yet the machine that stays in the vehicle is the ACE 250. KISS!!! ╦╦C

You can't beat the simplicity of those Ace detectors and they are just fun to use.

I haven’t settled on a price yet. I’ve watched Joe digger on tik tok find an unreal amount with his X-Terra Pro. It’s not an expensive detector but I heard they discontinued them. I’m wondering it the next one up from it is good.

Just be careful of some of the content videos. Some folks out there aren't on the up and up.

Thats my point, not everyone is dishonest, but for heavens sake we know by now companies will push there products regardless of testing thoroughly. Look if they had honest testers it would be fine, I myself wouldn't qualify because, you must understand the machine inside and out and show it in the field after extensive use, so simple.

I will be putting out a video before long called the Truth in Metal Detecting. Mainly for beginners but here is my take. The Deus 2 is one of the best right now but it is complicated for a beginner. As far as Testers being honest, a lot of them are sponsored and they are loath to say anything bad about any detector period. I have never been sponsored, so I can be honest. I hated the V3i. It was too complicated for me and I did not find much with it. I loved the VX3 which is almost the same machine by the same company, which is Whites. My best choice is Deus 2 but with that said my second choice would be CTX 3030, not the Manticore.

Seems like an easy thing to test. Build a plexiglass box with different types of soil and bury different targets at different depths.

It’s not about lying in terms of definition, but deception is comparable. Just say what the dam machine does and the possibilities when used to it’s full potential, don’t say oh it goes deeper, cosemetic speaking I don’t care if it’s ugly, I’m able to swing a machine I’m not physically unable, so wireless, less weight I don’t care,it’s performance that matters, so simple, people will respect these terms. If we both have the same machine and you’re more experienced guess what you’re probably going to find more than myself. So simple show and tell don’t exaggerate.
