WHO WANTS TO DIVE FOR TREASURE

Well we finally got everything fixed and got back out on site about lunch time today.

Jason pullled the heat exchangers and replaced them after the shop cleaned, tested and repaired them. While he was at it he replaced the impellors in both water pumps. Then he replaced some leaking hoses on the cooling systems and a faulty pressure gauge on one of the transmissions.

Seeing as he did almost all the work it only seems fitting that he also found the first coin of the year.

Tomorrow will be our first full day back on site and hopefully it will be productive.

We look forward to hearing from everyone we have spoken with about diving.

Hey Scott, long time, "no see", friend. Say "hey" to Jason too!
Jason told me ya'll had cinder blocks and cat food cans, to send me down with? Was he teasing?
Glad to hear ya'll hauling it up! I've loved your videos, and ya never know when I may come wandering down the beach!
Just a warning.:laughing7: Oh, and THANKS for everything!

Scott,

Great to see you back in action. I hope this season proves to be the best ever for you. Glad that Jason got the first coin of the season. What an asset he is to have on board.

Mariner

Got back out this morning and Dustin brought a nice big 8 out of the first hole. Then his brother Darren swam out and joined us for the second hole. Before i even got down there Darren brought up a coin out of the second hole. Just blew the third hole and going down to see what we can find.

Thanks for the compliment Mariner, you should come dive with us sometime.

The coins from the first two days of 2011 are just about cleaned up. Thought you guys would enjoy a few pics while we wait on better weather down here. We are spending a lot of time doing maintenance on the boat, which will pay off in reliability....we hope.

Hello
Doug and Dustin and his son Isaac joined Steve McAdoo and myself to day for a little treasure diving and we ended up with eight coins and a musketball. Steve had already found one yesterday. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better.

Here are a couple close up pix of a 1654 we found yesterday half way cleaned up! I don't know about anyone else on this forum, but I like the way these coins look when they are encrusted a little bit, I think it gives them more of an authentic look saying "I've been in the ocean for 350 years" The coins speak louder by showing thats its actual "Shipwreck Treasure". When they are completely cleaned and polished your not sure it came from the ocean, it might have been in the family for 350 years. I also think by leaving the coins more rustic would bring more value and make it harder to counterfeit, decreasing the amount of fakes and bringing more value to the real coin!!! I would love everyone's feed back on this topic, It would be nice to know if i'm crazy or making a valid point.

Nice finds...congrats. Looking forward to see what else you bring up this season.

Good luck

Yes, I think there should be left a bit of the sea on the coins, or other treasure. It could be an old nail or spike, and not much to look at if it has been cleaned up. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of nice items that I cleaned, and wish I would have left them as they were, incrusted in a mixture of sand and rust, with a spike or coin showing. Kind of like seeing a lovely girls thigh, but not seeing more, leave something for the imagination!

Jason just brought up two more, making it three so far for today.
