Which Pinpointer to chose???

Pistol Probe.
Unfortunately, it costs more than $150.
Fortunately, it's worth every penny.

I also use a pistol pro, but since you are in the $150 range I would get a Garrett pro pointer and still have some $$ left over.

Screw driver is the cheapest probe to use on shallow coins. Otherwise I like an inline probe from Sunray.

Easy. Garrett Pro Pointer. You won't be sorry.

I see in the forum that minelab will have one out in April 2012 called the Minelab Pro.............

I don't understand this method. :dontknow: For what is the screw driver? You pinpoint the object with Your MD, dig a plug and now You need the pin pointer to locate the object in the dirt. Some coins are 1/4 in diameter.... When using a screw driver to pull the coin out You probably scratch it. I can't speak for the pistol probe because i did not have any experience, but the Garrett works just fine! :icon_thumleft:

Garret propointer is definately a good choice & you wont be sorry!

I'm extremely happy with my Garrett ProPointer! :headbang:

Cool, but it'll cost an extra $40 for the ML logo. LOL

Pro pointer will be your better choice...

its cheaper
more durable
it vibrates
you don't have to hold the button
its much more compact and lighter
only takes one 9 volt battery not two

Chuckers, where the heck have you been? Haven't been seeing you on here lately?

Hope it gets better soon! Good to see ya Chuckers.

I'd highly recommend the Garrett! Especially if you've never hunted with a pinpointer. I never owned one until just the other day. I always thought I didn't need one. Well, I just got a Fisher F5 a couple weeks ago and really wanted to learn all the ins and outs of the machine so I figured i'd dig everything until I felt I was "educated" enough to start really making decisions on what to pass on and what to dig. Anyways, the Garrett Propointer has definately cut "hole searching" down to a minimum! Now I spend more time finding targets and moving on, rather than looking, rescanning, and looking some more! I really like the simplicity of it, no adjusting. Also it can be detuned just like your MD when you pinpoint. I considered some of the cheaper ones out there, but after reading the praises of the Garrett I decided extra money would be worth it, and i'm glad I did! :icon_thumleft:
