From what I can tell #2,3,4 are only different headsets?

I'll probably get a 9" coil since she will be doing woods detecting and not just open field detecting.

In principle, I agree but he wants to give his wife a Christmas present not a beta test box for Christmas, that is even if the Equinox actually arrives in time for Christmas.

Unless you have some special insider information that the rest of us are not privvy to, it is wayyy too early to make that claim, although if you are right, I will probably be owning one. We do know that it has a processor that seems to be as fast as the Deus, and that it will be waterproof, and we know the price. But that's about it so far. There are still a LOT of unknowns.
