Just bought an AT pro yesterday. And I have to say I LOVE IT!!! Found all kinds of stuff and lots of wheats. I have an old church I have been hunting today which obviously has not been hunted very much because I pulled out 3 wheats in my first 10 minutes... I am using my AT in pro coin mode. What should i be listening for the silver. Surely there is some around there... Right???

Bmelvin........ I love finding wheat pennies too. I also love finding copper pennies, I keep the coppers seperate and am up to apxly 60 pounds of copper pennies. And probably 300 wheat pennies. Keep hunting the church, your finding some awesome bounty there, and most likely there is a silver coin somewhere. The last silver I found was just about my last swing on the front lawn of a house built in 1954. I think if there is a 14 or 10K marking followed by other letters, then it's plated?
If you lay the ring down, and swing your coil over it, and it detects a penny, or a dime, then it's plated, but if it shows a nickel, or pull tab, then it's gold. Thats the way my Bounty Hunter reads gold anyway.

congrads on your recent finds. seems like your in a prime location to get some nice loot. the ring looks nice, if you find its gold then u can use electrolysis cooking a plated ring will more than likely ruin it cant tell from your pics if its plated, but it does look like a silver center. if it is plated, you scrub it with baking soda and warm water, it should shine up. dampen your fingertips and thumb with water, dab into a little pile of baking soda gently rub the ring, rub it till the tarnish comes off, then rinse in warm water.
silvers will come, but not as frequent as pennies ( i think money was worth more then, so they took care of it). hh david
