The SE is a nice machine. It can find deep wilver, too.

BDD...Kirk

P.S. The Ace 150 is a decent machine for the price.

ACE 150 is less money than the 250, but it only goes to 6+ inches rather than 8+ found on the 250. Even more importantly, it lacks the pinpoint feature found on the 250. I would not recommend the ACE 150.

Ace 250, or a minelab 30. But my vote is garrett Ace 250 I really like mine, It has pretty good deepth, plus nice feature, and if you want coins, you going to be digging a bunch, because it shure can find'em.

I say buy what you could, don't go over you head, LOL

why yopu pay a $1,000 buck and later hate the dam thing

IF you want Maximum DEPTH for the cheapest price, I would tell you go with the Tesoro Cibola. It costs alittle more than the Silver Umax, the Ace 250, and the Fisher F2 but you really would be hard pressed to find another machine that has the amazing depth that this one does for the price. I used one for my first machine and sold if for $175 with 2 COILS and wish now that I HAD NOT! It is a machine that is built for HIGH GAIN and has a supertune option that will pick up relics and coins at 7-10+ inches easily. You could probably get a good used one with the stock 9x8 coil for $140-$150 BUT they are VERY HARD to find used as they are such good machines people don't get rid of them often...

to me i would say if i was starting i want a machine that finds good and very ez to use. these should be able to be had for UNDER 100 dollars used.

choice 1. fisher silent search. low end .these go back as far as the early 80s i beleive. i had an old 1220x and found loads w it. there was also the 1210x even cheaper and simpler.but just as good. the somewhat updated versions are the 1225x and 1215x really about the same.

choice 2 i agree with what was said about tesoro, but no one mentioned their ultimate cheapie.the amigo. this very cheap and lightweight unit has the great tesoro electronics and a contol box just as small as the micro max series,at a fraction of the price. i had to modify mine as it hard not to bump the knob when using as designed.also sorta meant for women or kids if u tall might need to make an extension. super lightweight to packand carry. still my backup machine. any tesoro is a good bet, they tend to hold their value prob not find an old silver sabre or u max for 100 but maybe.

choice3 .bounty hunter line after mid 90s or so...bh radically changed about then from clunky metal to an all plastic case.wide display and visiual target id. cant remember all the names on the various models. time ranger or time bandit. i feel they dont quite have the depth capability of the other 2 but are king of low end for modern areas. in modern parks im after quarters only. turn up the discrim and lock for quarters and bingo.u are finding quarters only and almost nothing else.get the most value for time spent and less digging to upset the park people.yes some areas have prev history and i can remember switching back down to all coin after finding silver quarters. sold at walmart under another name-somebody helpme. and even radio shack discover 1100 has the bh guts.

regards, scrounger .oh yeah if u have at least 200 to spend then buy a new machine low end fisher or tesoro

The ace 250 is a really good unit for the the price.

I field tested it day one. I came home with old nickles a barber quarter indian heads. It is a nice little unit for the price. Good luck with your choices.

No matter what you unit buy. You still have to put in alot of hrs to get good with it. Be persistent and it will pay off for you.

The Ace 250 is a great detector for the money, had mine paid for in the first month with a white gold pendant I sold. It paid for itself money wise as well in just under four months as well. I've read a few other posts on this thread and looks like your given three or four good options and I doubt you can go wrong if you choose any one of them!!

I'll weigh in since I sold them...........................pretty well I might add....no profit margin though

Best company to deal with- White's............... bar none
Prizm's kick ash ....if you can spend a little more go with the MXT, XLT

Garrett Treasure Ace- great bang for the buck

Fisher just got bought by the company that owns Bounty Hunter and while they say no change in product ...we'll all see...

"a bad day detecting still rocks you out of your socks"
