Whats the average age of T-Netters If U dont mind

I'm 44 and have been detecting for 4 months. As far as computer literacy, I'm a Senior Software Engineer by trade.... :glasses11:

You probably need this hobby more than any of us!!!! :D

66 and sometimes much older in the mornings before strong black coffee. Detecting 35 years with a long vacation thrown in between.

Bos'n mate:
"78 and my detecting days are about done. Get down to dig a target, can't get up. Worse though is wife's handicapped, she can't be left alone. Been detecting since the mid 60's. Started with a White's BFO unit. Found some good stuff, but never got rich. Lots and lots of history though."

Solution: Get a longer shovel !! and keep diggin'
All the best,
Don....

44 and dirt fishing for 4 years with a metal detector. Playing in the dirt and finding stuff for a lifetime.

I cant type and count my fingers at the same time... hold on...

Ah yes... 46.

Been underwater since 2 ... diving since 6.
Introduced to recovery and salvage at 10...
Introduced to Treasure by Mel at 12...
Started detecting on beaches around 85ish... maybe thereafter.

Used an underwater detector on the beaches after laws...
Btw... found little of value in those days...
Beaches were polluted with trash to massive degrees.

56 years old. Started dirt fishing May 2014. Actually bought a detector 3 years prior but it just sat until the urge to detect struck again. The 1st Army computer I worked with had a 286 processor, a Zenith 286 Super Sport monochrome laptop, 640k of memory and a 20 mb hd back in lat 1992 . My first PC was a Packard Bell 486SX with 4 mg of ram and a 120 mb hd (present for the family back at Christmas 1993) . $1500 for the computer, monitor, and a color dot matrix printer. Even had my 3 year old son able to start the system in Dos so he could have enough memory to play the games of the day. Used it for a little over a year before I went to a computer show and spent about $600 on all the components needed & then paid a retired Navy Nuke guy to show me how to build the Pentium 133 system, 8 meg ram and 1.2 gig hd. As a hobby for a few years I bought and sold computer components on ebay, built cheap systems for the locals and friends, and also did repairs.

62.5, but have been told I look younger ! Don't feel that old either so I guess I am lucky.
