At a college field one time I dug a hole that just kept on giving up the clad, must've gotten twenty coins in all. I suppose those same pocket spills are out there with old coins, although probably smaller since in the day you might really be hurting with a few dollars missing. How'd you clean those, sonication or scrubbing?

Water and a little soap with a soft cloth. Although the water gets most the dirt off where they were touching wasn't as bad as it looks in the pic.
