I hope to get back out soon but got some chores to do.

oh man I know how that is.

It's amazing to know that this stuff is out there an we can't get to it....

That is an awesome find Rock! I love the material and the form.
At first glance it does make one consider Paleo, but if I had found it up here in the mid Atlantic, I might consider it a cross between a Fox Creek (aka . Steubenville), and a Jacks Reef Pentagonal. It is hard to tell from the photos alone, but the base does not appear to be heavily ground? Did this come from the sites where you are finding predominantly woodland era finds, or is this from a new site without previous finds with which to compare context?
You are on a roll, and I am anxious to see what else you find. HH

Well this year I have found all periods even Early Archaic on the Paleo not really but by the fishtail shape thats the 1st thing that came to mind. Even though I would like to think it is a Beaver Lake I just dont know on that due to it doesnt have ears. One side looks like it might of had one but the other side doesnt show it ever having a ear its complete on the base as far as I can tell. It could be a Agate Basin but Im just not sure. It does have some lite grinding on the base I wouldnt consider it to be a heavy grinding. It is thinned also on the base. I showed it to a local collector yesterday that I know personally. He said no on Beaver Lake but in the same breath he also said he didnt know what it was and he has been collecting 30+ years in GA. So your guess is as good as mine.

First of all let me say thanks everyone that gave their thoughts on this piece.
I took this to a show today and passed it around till one person said I know what this is and if it was a personal find from this area it was a very rare find. Its called a Early Eastern Stemmed Lance. He also said it was Late Paleo.
I looked it up on the net and found some that looks just like mine. Thanks again, rock
