what was your very first detected silver coin?

I have no idea? I still have it though, since I have every silver coin I ever found. I might do something with them some day....then again....

mine was a washington quarter, 1943 i think. i was amazed at how shiny it was when it came out of the ground. i was with my dad near a bar he used to go to. never forget it. the spot we detected seemed really tiny.
i had found a silverplated shoe store token, showed it to property owner, he grabbed it out of my hand, let out a yell and ran into the house to clean it. i shrugged it off and out popped a 1945s micro s mercury dime in almost uncirculated!

Mine was a 1941 Quarter. It was my first day with my new detector. I was on the front lawn of my mid 1960's house trying out the machine. Needless to say I was shocked.

I should add that I have since found about 15 silver coins, 8 or 9 Wheaties, an 1850's sleigh bell and numerous artifacts on my small 1/5 acre suburban property. Apparently the land was once a farm that dates back at least to the mid 1700's. I should start asking the neighbors if I can search their property, but I do not think it will go over well with my wife!

1923 "Merc" dime found in a local park. Was hauled in with some landfill as the park wasn't but about 6 years old! Monty

My first was a 1960 Rosie out of my mother's front yard. It was the second coin I had found on my second time out.

1895 Barber and a 1864 Half-Dollar. :) The same day :o. About 15 years ago and it still seems like yesterday.

1957 Washington Quarter. You could just tell it was silver the way it looked coming out of the ground. It was in near uncirculated condition with the big scratch I put in it with my digger. :-(

1941 (P) Mercury Dime. Found in one of my first hunts around my house with my Musketeer when it first arrived. "Hot Damn!", thought I, "This is great!"

But silver ain't so common as I have since learned. ;) Never found another piece of silver in that yard. * RATS *

Mine was a Walking Liberty Half. Don't remember the date. It was about 30 years ago and I don't have it any more. But I was hooked, hard, after I found it.

Mercury Dime right next to my driveway after I got my first detector.

Just barely hit silver with a 64 Rosie, but I had hunted for a year solid with no silver, so finding it was like a great big bowl of sunshine! ;D

Mine was a 1942 Quarter and a 1943 merc dime about 4 inches apart. Talk about happy i was ecstatic.
