What MD pinpointer is best - why?

I must live in a rare place, Maryland. I have never seen a coin over 10" deep. Other small objects, but no coins. I can't really imagine coins being deep in rocky soil. For one thing there is usually little decayed vegetation to cover them.
Now as for depth, my detector tells me how deep they are so I dig the ones that are over app. 6".
I have detected in most of the 48 states so I have seen all kinds of soil, rock, swamp, etc.

Frank, if you don't hunt fields that get plowed, you're right. Most aren't over 8 inches, but in plowed fields, they can and will be much deeper.
I use the Vibra Probe 580 as a pinpointer and like it much better than the Whites Bullseye 2 that I used to use. It has a few features I prefer over the Propointer. Tip only detection, auto off and water proof.
As Tnguns said, it's like asking which truck is better.....99% of the time, the answer will be whatever is being used by the person you ask.

Garrett Pro pointer. no problems here. love it. I would like to try the whites but have no use for it right now, nor the budget to spend on it. cheers.

It's all relevant, if your detector pin points well, you know about where your target is, and just need something to get
close to the target
Had an old whites bullseye. Worked well, on/0ff switche re- placed 4 times.
Got a pistol probe. Have to keep it in motion, crazy! I got, a propointer
So far so good. Whites may detect up to 3 inches and is adjustable. HF $16.! ALL ABOUT CHOICES!!!

I use the Garrett PP. Like others have said it occasionally falses and you have to shut it off and turn it back on. I wish it had a few more options like being able to turn the sound off, but i can't complain its the standard by which just about all other pin pointers are measured. I actually own two of them!

That said, if I had to buy again, I would probably go for the TRX since it seems to be the current state of the art

My Garrett PP is great so far. Just in case you didn't know, you can GB them which eliminates falsing. Just hold the tip of the probe on the ground your searching and turn it on. It automatically balances to that ground. Once you turn it off and on again it's back to normal. :occasion14:
