I posted this in your last snake thread, but I guess you didn't read it.

The odds of you being bitten by a snake in the U.S. are 1 in 25,000. The odds of you dying from a snake bite is 1 in 65 million. Bottom line, don't sweat it and leave them alone.

LOL, you guys are funny. She reminds me of my sister. She'd kill it too, no matter if it was a worm snake. Some people just don't like snakes. I agree, I wouldn't kill it myself. I'm not gonna condemn someone for it though. Some of you sound like tree hugging, PETA loving SJW's (social justice warrior) over this snake killing. It's a snake, get over it.

I hunt and fish and raise chickens for meat and eggs.

What I don't do is kill "just because".

Snakes and frogs are having enough problems from habitat destruction and environmental pollution. They don't need further help to go extinct.

On the other hand, we have 7.6 billion humans and that will probably double in the next 50 years.

So, if you want to kill a nuisance species that needs culling . . .

Oh, there are a few things that attack densely populated areas first . . .

And these are the ones I battle every day as part of my job (wastewater treatment).

If you live in area where there are lots of snakes it would be wise to learn what you have in your area. It is not illegal to kill poisonous snakes in Ga as they can cause a risk but other non game species are protected or endangered.
Your snake was not a threat. I pm'ed you a link hope it helps.

You can't help someone's fears by socially ostracizing them.
A fear is an opportunity. A fear should be embraced in some even symbolic way.
I think maybe you could buy a little snake, like a corn snake, and care for it.
Feed it, hold it. After awhile the snake will become even attractive.
I mean most men have to be house trained also.

My new neighbor up here on this ridge top in TN. just killed a 4'+ rattlesnake right by the step where his wife and dog enter last week. But he skinned it, cut it up, soaked in some salt water and had it for supper the next day! And then froze the rest for later as there was much to much to have in one meal. There really was a lot a meat on the ol' boy.

Help them? Who said anything about helping them?

Fear is a weakness. Cold determination and channeled anger is a strength. Put them in a hot car with 20 snakes and let them work it out amicably. If they were non-venomous then it was just a silly exercise.

If they were venomous? OK, so future monkeys using your gene pool may benefit. Tool users - we have other means to avoid snakes. Like opening the car door and leaving. ;-)

Kittens and puppies can scratch worse than that snakes little teeth haha. Please don't go in the woods and kill everything that scares you. Others want to enjoy nature. Just stay in the city.
I have never lived in the city I am and will always be a country girl this snake was not in the my woods but up in my yard it would still be breathing if it had stayed in the woods.

Not afraid of snakes they just gross to me and I can't tell if they are poisonous or not most not interested on waiting for me to Google before they bite. Not really worried about myself but my babies. I have approx 20 acres 5 of which is yard the snakes that are in the woods 15 acres are safe from me but the yard has sweet little bare feet curious little minds and oblivious to dangers and I will kill or whatever necessary to make sure not a hair on their beautiful heads is harmed. Its a freaking snake people. Ps little girl from my area in hospital from cotton mouth bite snake wasn't scared or intruded upon came after child minding her own business
