What is this?

I found this pin or button in an area of WV where there was Civil War Activity and Revolutionary War activity as well. I believe it is made of lead. It has the numbers "3159" on the front of it. It is a little bigger than a dime in size. I don't know what it is or what the numbers mean.

Welcome to Tnet. it looks to be a lead seal probably from a seed bag they were also used for bulk cloth also. HH

i did some more research on the web and i think it may be a Lead Seal from the B&O railroad. Does that sound likely? I have been detecting fairly close to railroad tracks.

It could be a door seal if from the RR or from some bulk product they carried.HH
