Re: What is this(what happen to all the smart people

A (smart) person would have shown a picture of the back.

The flower appears to be a type of Cannundrum...

But it's only a guess.

I just think it's a crude depiction of a sunflower not a precise depiction. Not saying "this is what it is". I'm usually wrong in my guesswork lol. :dontknow:

Re: What is this(what happen to all the smart people

This thread is self destructing.

First of all I agree it could be a sunflower designed by someone that has no idea what sunflower petals and leaves look like. :D

Second it would be a great laugh if the originator had not posted a pic of the front and back, but upon closer examination, it appears he did. The front and back are identical except for the direction of the bend.

Third I would like to see a pic of a picture hanger or whatever so as to put this thread to sleep. It seems to have offended many members.

I finally found the Cannundrum flower its a possibility but there are so many variations. The leaves seem different. :dontknow: Maybe its just a generic flower.

I think you are right BigCy, it's most likely a generic flower.....

And I apologize for the good natured ribbing directed at the poster, I just wanted to point out the counterproductive rudeness of the subcaption that's all.

No harm or ill will intended.

Put it to bed anyhow. I think the host isn't happy that we didn't positively identify the item within an hour, and got stroppy. Many of us have spent time trying to track his item down over the past few days, but he hasn't bothered to comment or add his own opinions for 3 days. Take it to a site with smarter folks on it, we just do what we can...no charge!

I think this piece originates from the North of England particularly Yorkshire. The flower is that of a Rose and it could have been from a picture frame maybe.. When I saw it, it looked a familiar desgin.

The first thing I thought of was the English Rose or Tudor Rose but its depicted with 5 or 6 petals, never 8. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&...dor rose"&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi

Its the leaves that I cant match either.
