Mighty big for a necklass. Hanging attactment in wrong direction.

Spoon rest, type that hangs on wall, would be plausable.

Looks like an ceremonial ornament worn around the neck in a fraternal or maternal organization.

If I was smart...

I'd say this is a Victorian era picture hanger. Once upon a time, it was flat. A long wire goes through the top loop and the loops at 4 & 8 o'clock and it is hung on the picture rail with an 'S' hook. You move this piece up and down to adjust the height of the picture on the wall.

But I'm an idiot so I won't say anything...

Its not a sunflower. The sunflower has way more petals and different leaves.



Im not convinced its a picture hanger either until I see a similar pic.

Iding the flower may be a start. Its not a Daisy either.

All jokes aside, I do think it is a sunflower. Since Duffy said it turned green, I'm assuming it is either brass or copper. I've seen similar ones as DCMatt said for hanging pictures, but the more I look at it, I think it could be a Art Nouveau or Art Deco sash/belt jewel, which hung down from the belt or sash. It would be helpful if we had a pic of the back. Breezie

I dont understand why the talk about sunflowers? It has some resemblance but it clearly has many more than 8 petals and the leaves are completely different.

Are there different types of Sunflowers?

OK I googled wild Kansas sunflower and in some variations the petals look rounded. But there are more than 8 petals and the leaves are still VERY different. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunflower

I think its a wild flower but not sunflower. Do we have a flower person here?
