Iron, steel, play-doh... my point was who gives a crap.

Everyone here knows most everything that came out of a cannon was CAST IRON.

WHO CARES IF HE CALLS IT STEEL?

As for your bearing info... I said that a ball this size would have had a race of at least 10 inches. The biggest you could find had a bore of 155mm. The BORE is the HOLE through the CENTER of the bearing. That means your ball bearings would be around an INCH and the total outside diameter would be about 10 inches. For this ball to come from a bearing, there would have to be at least six of them to make a circle and it would have to have a bore of about two inches. A ten inch hole for a two inch shaft? Lots of wasted space in your machine huh? Well, I guess my guestimation was a bit off... you could have had an 8 inch outside diameter bearing and NO bore... makes almost as much sense. I never said large bearing don't exist. I said I couldn't find a picture of one. I also said that when bearings get really large, BALL types become very ineffective... ok, you got me. Single race, large balls, few balls, type bearings become ineffective. I was referring to the "10 inch OD/ 6 ball" bearing. You could take ten zillion bb's and make a HUGE ball bearing.

Still... NOT A BEARING.
Still... A FREAKING CAST IRON GRAPE SHOT.

Look Doc... the sky sure is blue today.
No it's not DigEmAll... IT'S BLUE!
Well, I'll be damned Doc, you're right, it's blue.

THE END.
