With all do respect secretcanyon, its necessary and of the utmost importance to "split hairs" and make the correct identification label when you are dealing with Fiesta. Spreading misinformation doesnt help anybody. It has been properly IDed as a "medium green individual salad bowl" because thats exactly what it is and the value is $100-$175 and it doesnt have a lid. Every bowl is different and some wont even fetch $10. Mine sold for $120 and its officially called a "salad bowl" by the Fiesta company.

The borrowed photo you just posted appears to be "light green." For example I have 2 light green plates that finally just sold for $9 both together! Thats a big difference.

The point is, if you take the time to read the replys, you will discover that you really need to know what you are doing to buy and sell in Fiestware. Im not claiming to know everything myself and I just got lucky. I dont know the value of lids but I would guess it depends on the color. My bowl doesnt have a lid.

I guarantee everything I sell. If its not a medium green salad bowl, the buyer will be returning it for sure. I believe the ID is correct but I will keep this updated.

I dont eat salad either but if I had called it a mixing bowl or a nesting bowl, I would have misrepresented the item and possibly sold it very cheaply. Do you understand?

The Fiesta individual salad bowl is the correct identifying name to the piece that BCH listed on ebay, and it never was produced with a lid.

Its all cool but I dont think you understand secretcanyon or you must not have read the entire thread. The title of this thread is "What is so Special about a (freakin) Fiesta Salad Bowl?"

I paid one dollar for it at a ghetto yard sale because of the name Fiesta. To me its just a freakin ugly bowl. I dont care if its used for cereal, salad, grits or mixing. I happen to see the exact bowl on eBay that sold for $160! I started this thread to solve the mystery.

Mystery has been solved read this Vintage Fiesta Pottery Online Identification Gallery I copy and pasted the entire explanation. FIESTA officially calls it an "Individual Salad Bowl". Not a nesting bowl or anything else. It was only made in 4 colors. Its so rare that clovis stated that he had never seen one in person.

Listed properly on eBay as a medium green salad bowl, I was able to sell it for $122.50 despite a small nick on the rim. "Salad bowl" is not my opinion, its the correct ID and clovis supports it. Besides that a reputable knowlegable collector paid good money for it.

Now I hope you will say thank you bigcypresshunter for the explanation because believe me I have other things to do. I hope this explains it for you and I am not insulted its all cool no worry. :icon_thumright:
