What do you use for a Relic detector?

I use a Tejon in open field and wooded spots. I will run it in all metal and it kicks a$$. If there's anyting metal in the ground, all metal will find it. It is very sensitive to small and thin items and will go deep. To run in all metal the site has to be pretty clean. I also will hunt cellar holes occassionally. When doing this I will run in disc mode and it does a fine job.

Minelab til they pry it from my cold dead hands!

Incidentally there's a lot of emphasis in these forums on detectors and not nearly enough on coils. A quality coil can cost you up to half what you paid for your detector. Its like buying an expensive digital camera and not upgrading the 32mb flash card that comes with it.

Since you're looking: Take a peak at the Teknetics G2, Teknetics T2. I have the Fisher Gold bug Pro, which is identical to the G2 and I know I dig a lot of small objects which it is very sensitive too. More importantly it is EXCELLENT in trashy areas and quieter than others. They can really pick through the junk. I like their disc. system..If you don't set it too high, you don't really lose any depth over All Metal mode. It has a large number ID readout and a ground mineral number displayed also........Johny Blaze has some videos on this forum, where he is digging cellar holes with the T2. Try and find them you would enjoy watching them...... Did I mention the G2 weighs only 2.5 lbs., and has good battery life with a single 9 volt battery?

and...

The two best I’ve seen in “hot” ground would be White’s TDI and the Minelab 5000. The Infinium works pretty well.
