WHAT DETECTOR TO GET?

Hi everyone i have been detecting for e couple of years now. And was looking for some advice on the prospecting
program for the whites XLT. It has been a good machine, however i moved to a known gold producing area and would like to
look for some nuggets. I have been looking into an all around detector any advice on this matter?
4 brands whites,garret,tasoro,or minelab, what make and what modle would you suggest.

There are only 4 detectors that I know of that have the high frequency necessary for coin/relic/nugget hunting . Tesoro Vaquero(has not been tested for nugget hunting yet), Tesoro LST( an excellent machine), X-5(I own this one) and the MXT.? From what I have read- the MXT because of it's VDI abilities has an edge on the other three. I recommend you read Steve Herschbach's excellent article below.
