Over the River and thru the Woods...

I'll try and keep this short and sweet. Yesterday, found out my job was closing down. To say I was annoyed would be an understatement - especially the way things are right now. Especially after leaving a very good job to take what was supposed to be a "fantastic opportunity". HA! Then I spent four hours in the hospital last night with a recurring heart problem - apparently I have something called "SVT" : Supraventicular tachycardia. I'm still here though, so I can't complain. Gotta' do the follow-up thing and all that.

Anyway, I woke up early and decided to take the new S.E.F. (10X12) out for it's first swing. While I'm still learning the SE, I can say I definitely like this coil over the stock 10.5 slimline. I headed over to an old home site that I've been to once before with no luck. I was determined to pull some kind of keeper today but didn't expect this - a 1928 S Standing Liberty Quarter. I was sticking to a very small area and just trying to listen to everything the machine was "telling me" - I dug just about everything I could. Pulled three memorials, some screw caps, this strange iron ball (grapeshot?) and the SLQ. I'll be hitting it again possibly tomorrow - hopefully there's more goodies to pull from the depths... 8)

Enjoy the pics and thanks for stopping by - keep on swingin' y'all...

Congrats on the SLQ. They're always nice when they come out of the ground.

I've got the new S.E.F. coil on my DFX, and I like it too. The only real problem that I've been having with it, is that I've found that the deeper the coin is, the more trouble I have pin pointing it. Hope you have better luck.

Yup, had a bit of a time trying to get the pinpointing down as well. Everyday is a learning process... ;D

Sorry to hear about the job and medical problem. I'll keep you in my prayers.

You have found something I've never found: a SLQ with a date! She sure is pretty...
