I TRIED to break the screen out and couldn't. So that means no more buying shitty bucket screens for $20-$30 apiece that are made from shitty brittle plastic. If these ones break I go home and make a new one and they cost about $1.75 each
We were screening to 1/2" and about 5 gallons in less than a couple of minutes. It would work amazing with your cut in half drum, fill with water and spin that bucket.
My father in law said he used to do a bit of panning and sluicing in that area. I'm not very familiar with the area but I will ask him where he used to go. We do end up in Seeley pretty often as that's where he lives now but other than that I don't know any of that country
Did you happen to download that digger map app that was mentioned earlier in this thread. We have used it a bit. It has lots of info. I also have a couple really neat books on montana prospecting that I could attempt to email to you.
Just read about it on here a few days ago thought I would share. I wish I could give credit to those that created it but i can't remember what thread I saw it in.
I run into just black sand all the time around this area. It's going to be nice this weekend I'm going to a spot on sat to clean out some culverts and hit some cracks. I have been there before and have found some color. If you want any suggestions on places let me know.
